The source I have used is suggesting that "the Palace statements are false and that the decision now rests with the player to stay or join WHU". His source is "aware of the statements and thinks that Palace are attempting to create a bidding war for Zaha's signature". I am not one for idle speculation but this guy gets a lot of stuff right days and weeks in advance, often for players most fans previously knew little about - for example, Pablo Barrera, Winston Reid and Ravel Morrison. He called our signing of Vaz Te when the papers never got hold of it. I am certainly not a 'WUM' and come in peace. Earlier in this thread, I was giving you Palace fans info on Baldock that might have been useful for you to form an opinion of him, his style of play, how to play to get the best out of him etc for you to form judgments on whether he'd fit in at Selhurst. I'm just sharing info and, as I say, come in peace - I was made to feel welcome when I first came on! This info may be wrong and your owners may be spouting the truth but, as I say, it's a pretty good source. Edited by happyhammer (15 Jun 2012 1.26pm)
I think this is nonsense as well - but it's been all over Twitter and I don't think for a second that this poster is trying to stir anything. I'm also pretty sure that, were we to accept an offer, Wilf would jump at the change of Premier League football with West Ham. However, I do not expect teams that are new to the Premier League to spend large sums on unfinished products - so I suspect West Ham are unlikely to meet our asking price. All of this coul be wrong, of course, but most certainly not because our owner has denied it.

He declines to answer on some topics (and could easily have said nothing here since he wasn't asked a question, just chipped in of his own accord) but where has he ever lied? Lazy to just bracket him as a "football chairman". He's a Palace fan who used to scour the BBS and HOL himself for transfer rumours!

Edited by happyhammer (15 Jun 2012 1.26pm) I highly doubt our owners would lie and try to create a bidding war for Zaha; as the club is in a position where it does not need to sell. I would expect only ridiculously silly money would persuade them to do so. And I don't think five/six million + 'no goals' Sears is going to do it.

My guess is that CPFC2010 probably will buy a striker, probably towards the end of the transfer window, using money from the sale of Clyne. Personally, I doubt whether that would be Baldock, because he is now overpriced, and they might prefer a taller striker

The Observer has reported our interest in Baldock in their 'tales from the tabs' section, I think it' s clear he is our number one target it's just a case of how to fund things, may be a loan with WHU getting first option on Zaha, or Clyne even
