personally i think there over rated and over paid and have absolutely no chance of winning the euros i mean there not even taking there best squad because if they where ferdinand would be there i mean martin kelly world class i don't think so half our plays wouldn't even be on the spain bench
Wishing our fans would stop f. Ing about and start hoping we can hold on to our best players for a change and keep our squad for more than one season then we might be the PRemiership club we want to be |

You are very quickly descending into the same laughing stock arena as Sc..andinavian countries like Finland. It ain't nice being there but you will be welcomed with open arms and a nice wee kiss. On the forehead. Edited by Kermit8 (04 Jun 2012 8.38pm)

Where as ours, well all I'm going to say is Cell Block H. Finland can be sh(t at football, because their womens team are a w*ankers paradise.

I reckon they are well and truely overated. How many Englishmen play for Barcalona or Real Madrid, how many play in Germany, Italy or Spain and indeed how many play for the top teams in the Premier League. The media hype them up so much that the English public and the English players start believing that they are the best in Europe or when it comes to the World Cup, England are always one of the favourites to win the comp. I'm convinced that until quotas are brought into place for Englishmen to play for Premier teams, that England's status will fall into further decline.

The reason why are players don't develop is because not many of the top teams have English men in the side. And the reason for this is how overpriced English men are in the prem. 35m for Carroll who hadn't had a full season in the prem for Newcastle, 20m for Henderson who was still young and probably played around 20 games for Sunderland. Top teams won't buy British as you can find a foreign player for cheaper and is probably better.

the thing is, for their clubs they aren't overrated (well maybe a little bit), a lot of them have won the champions league, gerrard was by far liverpool's best player in their winning season. Lampard, cole, cahill and terry (until barca away) along with drogba and cech were probably chelsea's best players in the champions league this season. Rooney has absolutely carried utd since ronaldo left, they have challenged in the league consistently and got to a champions league final since ronaldo left and most of that is down to ferguson, rooney and to an extent vidic. Then you've got players like hart, barry and lescott who, despite all their millions, were ever present in city's league winning season. So i think it is more than harsh to call these players over rated, because as players, most have them have had brilliant carrers, better than pretty much the whole german team, most the dutch team and all the teams except spain and a lot of them are, quite rightly, the main players in top premiership teams. The problem is they never have played well for england. A few of them have had the odd inspirational game, but very few have translated their excellent club form to the international stage. Whether that be because of a lack of pride, fear, too much money, or simply being the victims of poor management, who knows? probably a mixture of all of them. But they definitely have the quality to win a tournament, and with the right attitude and management we've got a real chance of winning this one. All we need is a few talented players - players like rooney, gerrard and young to flourish and the rest to play with pride and passion and we could do it
