According to newspaper reports we are giving Peter Kurucz a Trial. I think he is a goalkeeper from West Ham. Anyone got any views?

Price wants first team football, and I think Speroni has a couple of years left in him...it would make sense to get a decent young goalkeeper as a back-up if Price leaves this summer but otherwise I wouldn't mind giving Fitzsimons a go, and DF did mention 7/8 youth players getting a chance this year!

I hope this doesn't come in the wake of Clyne possibly going to spam. I would rather cash than this guy and a lower amount for clyne.

I hear that this may be cover, as Julian is injured and not expected to make the start of the season.

From Richard Cawley of the South London Press: "Former West Ham keeper Peter Kurucz is training with #cpfc. But club do expect Julian Speroni to be fit for start of the season.

Just for a bit more info for you on him, he was released by us before the end of last season. Played less than a half of football for us in just over three years. He had a serious knee ligament injury which kept him out for the whole of 2010/11. Went to Rochdale on loan last year before getting injured again. Edited by happyhammer (15 Jul 2012 9.57am)

Jules could easily go strong til he's 35 in my opinion.
Supporting Palace is like eating Lasagne. No one really likes it and it usually ends up a bit mediocre. |

Currently, not great, Petereagle. I'm personally gutted we've lost Rob Green as, alongside Scott Parker, he's been our best player over the last 6 years. We've replaced him with a largely unknown quantity in Portsmouth's Stephen Henderson and a 'keeper in Jaaskelainen who, while consistently impressive over the last 10 years or so, couldn't get in Bolton's relegated side for the second half of last season. I'm pleased we've made McCartney's move permanent as he's solid, reliable and consistent. We should never have sold him in 2008 - the knock-on ramifications of that sale were the resignation of Curbishley and the nightmare regimes of Zola (God help Watford!)and Grant. Diame is decent acquisition on a free too. We have been linked with very decent players in your own Zaha and Clyne, Krasic and Elia of Juventus, Santos' Neymar, Pastore at PSG, Yilmaz of Trabzonspor, Jonas Olsson at WBA, Demba Ba, Benayoun and, more recently, Andy Carroll. The owners are funding transfer fees but wages will be the liability of the club and they are not being held to ransom. Our interest in Clyne has recently faded due to the extortionate agent fees involved, for example. I am concerned as I think it's always beneficial to have your squad mostly in place by the start of pre-season, as Man Utd always successfully seem to do. We have made mistakes in terms of quality in the past (Mido, Benni McCarthy, Pablo Barrera) but have had more recent successes (Nolan, Vaz Te). Time will tell how successful this window is for us but I have to admit I thought we would have more to shout about by now.
