Freedman has previously said his ideal squad would have 2 players in every position to cover injuries suspensions etc. With that in mind how has the squad shaped up...

GK Speroni / Price
RB Blake / Ward
CB Delaney / Gabbidon
CB Paddy / Ramage
LB Parr / Moxey
CM Jedi / O'Keefe
CM KG / ?
AM Garvan / Moritz
RW Zaha / Williams
LW Bolaise / ?
CF Murray / Wilbraham

This leaves out Easter, Marrow and Wright who's Palace careers look to be coming to an end.

Martin who I would imagine we're trying to get back to Southampton ASAP.

Do we need need to add another Winger and/or central midfielder to get through the season? Or do we have enough in the youth team to step up? Da Silva obviously come to mind covering on the wing.

If we happened to lose Jedi and KG at the same time I think we'd struggle... Freedman obviously has an eye on this as has a defensive midfielder coming on trial.

In the U21's we have some good plyers on the cusp of the first team. JB or Hambo can tell you more. 4 and 5 CB's, Banton LM, Sekajja FW, Boateng CM. Mostly the fruits of the academy, looking very good for us at the moment. Get down to SP for the next U21's, it's really very good.

When i see him, it's gonna be painful. Skinny little cont.

Parr can play on the left of midfield as well as Left Back, and at a push Garvin could cover KG (along with O'keefe).

In terms if Garamond he replaced KG at wolves and that went well! Thinking about that game against wolves we only played Jedi as a DF, although I think nowadays KG is mug more than a DMV, that's not his position he was bought for. He's a box to box mid, but I think due o his lack of fitness last year he couldn't run past the halfway line so he looked like a DMV, and was pretty ineffective!

Parr would be a good left mid but the formation we play he'd have to play left wing and don't think he's good enough. Think we should try and get a quick winger on loan in January as cover.

Parr can play on the left wing, I think Williams was put there for a game a few weeks back, and I'm sure Zaha would be fine with playing there and cutting inside.
I do think we need a very versatile attacking midfielder to complete the squad - not necessarily anyone spectacular, just someone who could play central midfield/attacking midfield or right/left wing.

Ward can play in DM, and Parr can cover RB as can Ramage. Also as mentioned I have been reading/hearing good things about some of the U21 players Parsons has looked very good when I have seen him and kyle de Silva can play AM or on the wing and there was a lot of talk about this being the season for him to come into the first team so I think we have great strength in depth and if I remember rightly you haven't even mentioned Goodwillie but I do agree I think Easter, wright and Marrow's futures may be elsewhere which is a shame as before the injuries Marrow looked a great utility player.
