I think if the Bedroom tax is used properly and with some common sense(a lot in some cases) then it should work. And I don't mean kicking disabled people out of their homes,but why should a couple living in a 3 bedroomed council house stay in it when there are families living in B&B s somewhere. always a Norwood boy, where ever I live.

Out of interest, why is it disgusting? Is it better that families with 4 kids end up in b&b accomodation for lack of sufficient sized housing while a family with no kids at home has two spare rooms?

Given the unpopularity and the shoddy way it's been implemented i'm surprised that it hasn't already been scrapped. A complete disaster.

It is disgusting as it hits the very poorest and most vulnerable in our society who have enough problems trying to survive on benefits. In areas where there is a lack of 2 or 3 bedroom properties there maybe an argument for it, however there are many areas where there are not enough 1 bedroom places for people to move into. In some areas it has meant there being empty 2 and 3 bedroom properties as there are no-one to move into those after people have been forced out to smaller properties. What good does that serve apart from forcing people out of homes they may have lived in for many years, have kept in good order and could do without the stress of being forced to move. It is a cruel and disgusting tax on the poorest people in our society and it is wrong. I should add I'm not trying to persuade anyone but it is something I have experienced and caused me to have treatment for depression as I almost lost my flat (as there were no 1 bedroom places to move to) due to rent arrears. There is a vast excess of 2+ bedroom properties in this area. Prior to this charge I had never been in arrears. This is why I feel very strongly about it. Here in the States we move under a bridge which is fine as long as you have got a good sleeping bag. I guess you cannot do this in Britain because I hear people pee under bridges.

The bedroom tax has cost MORE financially than it's GAINED. Throw into the mix the needless 'stress' that it's caused to far too many then it really is a WTF policy! The vast majority of those targeted were not able to 'downsize' due to there being no properties to downsize to! A complete sham of an ill thought out policy aimed solely to make headlines and please the fickle. But I'm glad the fickle are happy
