According to the indy, he may well be...

Lying about the fact that because we are all taking a massive hit, the national debt has gone down.
Well it hasn't, it's risen...

In fact, the latest figures show that the national debt is actually rising. Since the Coalition was formed, public sector net debt has expanded from £811.3bn (55.3 per cent of GDP) to £1,111.4bn at the end of December 2012 (70.7 per cent of GDP). The Office for Budget Responsibility has also forecast that public sector net debt will continue to increase and the Government’s target to get it declining by 2015-16 will not be met.

Becky's right Nick. I know you like to create discussion points and that's no bad thing......But is a politician a liar?

Is the Pope a catholic and all that.

Are young girls from Essex of easy virtue?

Mind you, I doubt a lot of them know what 'easy virtue' means.

What a great debate. Is a politician/political figure a liar. Did Gordon Brown lie when pre 1997 he said we will not introduce university tuition fees (you can pick any one of your favorite brown lies). Did blair lie over Iraq (or just about everything). Did Major lie over curry (ewwww). Did Clegg lie over having a back bone. Did the vast majority of MP's lie over their expenses (a majority way over 300 and how many convicted?).

Shall we take it further and bring in political journalists, union leaders and unions in general. What about posters on the Hol who put so much spin on something that was or was not said by someone you cant tell if its fantasy or a lie.

Now the bit you linked to refers to a specific thing that Cameron said. "we are paying down the Britains debt's". Now if you take it literally it is clearly not true. Therefore he is a liar.

Shock horror

Now if i take what you said on the gove thread literally (you know the bit about tory mp's and s**t idea) i could call you a liar as the supplied link does not say that. They are YOUR words.

I think what i am trying to say Nick is you need to get another hobby before this unhealthy obsession kills you.

It's so facking blatant though. How does he think he can get away with it?

We need a coup.

I'm with you on that as long as when its done and dusted we take the billy connolly view. Anyone with any interest in politics or being an MP should immediately be excluded from running for Govt (paraphrasing)

Inflation has risen dramatically since the Conservatives came to power therefore the debt has come down in real terms.

And we are back to political speak and/or spin. I was very deliberate in my above post to The fabulous Mr Gusset to use words like literally and to define things as black or white (come on cucking or Jamiemartin or whoever i pre·empt your one word "racist" response
) but the truth is politics is all spin and double speak. There is enough in what Cameron said for those who hate him to call him a liar but for others to spin or have it spun to them that it is true. I suppose it all about perspective.
