I thought I'd take this opportunity as an Everton fan to welcome you back to the Premier League and wish you all the best for the coming season.

I've added a banner linking to your forum at the foot of my website, and will no doubt nip back and have a chat, or share a questionnaire once the season begins.

kind regards

Cheers mate. I remember parking at Goodison & drinking in an Everton pub (The Winslow I think) before we played Liverpool in the League Cup semi-final 2nd leg in 2001. All the Blues in the pub were cheering for us and even though we lost 5-0 on the night and 6-2 on aggregate, it was nice to feel some scouse lurve for a change!

How will your boys do with Moyes gone and Martinez in charge do you think?

EDIT: See you've answered my question already!

Sorry to be a pedant but we were in the championship then. Why would we have been playing Everton?

He said he was in an Everton pub before playing Liverpool in the cup. Re-read the post

Is the correct answer

I think if he can get the squad in's and out's done early, he should get off to a good start, as we're a very good side, and the players are extremely professional.

Our pre-season is exciting too, as we take on the likes of Juventus, Chelsea, Real Madrid and so on, so what a great opportunity for him.

League wise, every new manager needs a good start, so fingers crossed. He seems a likeable guy.

I like Martinez and think he'll do well for you, but, like you said, he'll need some time and good signings to get off on the right foot. Kenwright is a good chairman though, doesn't hire and fire on a whim, so RM will I'm sure be treated with patience should things not go right from the get go.

Were you at the ZDS Cup Final in 1991 by any chance?

I remember going nuts after Lombardo's goal away at Everton in the first game of the 97 season. Looking forward to us playing them again

I like Martinez too. Always good see to managers that like to play football getting the bigger jobs.

Got a lot of good friends who are Evertonians and I've always got a close eye on the goings on at Goodison for the reason above so the fixture I'm most looking forward to next season can't wait.

I was there for the last time we played you in the prem at Selhurst.

It was Clattenburg's first game as a prem ref and he robbed us of three points that day with his sh1t decisions.

I went with my nephew and amused him by shouting out to Duncan Ferguson before ko and offering him out... LOL.

Thanks for your good wishes..... would you like loan us Felaini for this season?

Cheers Everton!

Always a club i've had respect for. Try & do things the right way without throwing money around, yet still manage to compete.

Certainly my favourite brand of scousers... By a LONG stretch.

Great reading your memoires lads, and hopefully you will create some new ones next season.

Thanks to the lads who took the time to visit, and indeed register also. It's a small forum, so great to get a few visits.

I changed to a dot com yesterday, so a slight change to my url.

Just another step on my way to world domination :P

Have a great weekend, and speak soon.

I remember that being Geoff Thomas, not Eric Young. What a great day out the ZDS cup was - really. Never had anything against either Liverpool club, went into the Kop with my wife, both wearing Palace scarves, we won and we got no grief at all. But tend to prefer Everton like I tend to prefer Sheff U to Sheff Weds. Just slightly the little brother.
