I cannot remove Websteroids from my PC
Not sure how it got there. Maybe from one the 'adult educationalist' sites I frequent

I have a blue triangle on the botton bar showing 'Websteroids is running'

It's not listed on the add/remove programs or if I do Start and all programs

HELP !

Try Malwarebytes - free - seems to sort most things.

Only in Somerset will you see three Reliant Robins on the road in the same day

This fella wrote this to someone having a serious problem with it and was the only one to solve it out of many who tried to help.

"Is the extension being dropped into a Firefox folder, either in C:\Program Files (x86)\ or your profile folder?

If you are finding the extension somewhere else, and you are familiar/comfortable with RegEdit.exe, look in these keys for anything related to Websteroids:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Mozilla\Firefox\extensions
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions

Two things I'd check at the Windows level:

(1) Startup programs. It sounds as though "something" remains resident. The Autoruns utility is a good tool to examine what is running at startup and disable it if it sounds suspicious.

(2) Scheduled Tasks. Some malware creates a scheduled task.

Some are, I had one called mywebsearch which installed a toolbar, relocated home page etc all the usual also relocated google searches links back to google or it's own search engine. I did everything to remove it and I'm no PC novice but this had me so stumped I had to give up and re install windows.

I got this westeroids is running thing with the icon after I downloaded a pattern that I paid for. It seized up my computer and I searched for 2 days for a solution. I tried to uninstall it but it came back every time. In one of these forums someone suggested to another poor person to try malwarebytes.com to remove it. I had wasted hours on this so I tried the free scan. It removes "bug watcher" programs like this.On the free scan it found 30 bugs hidden on my computer. I bought the program for 28 bucks, ran it,opened and installed it,and all the bugs were removed. I am not a computer whiz, but I want to let anyone know that this worked. It made my computer grind to a halt and now it is gone. I was so happy,to see the icon on my taskbar gone for the first time in 2 days!

The one that s***s people up that I have had to remove from peoples computers is one that as soon as you log in brings up a page that won't go away saying it's from the police, it has the logo of any constabulary (sussex, hampshire etc) telling you that you have done something illigal (downloaded music, programmes etc) and if you have a webcam it takes that over and shows it in the page and asks you to pay 150 to leave you alone. The amount of people that fall for this, the police would never ask you to pay to leave you alone would they lol.

Haha.. I've seen that one... it's Worldwide with just about every country/police force - they all ask for an online payment to "Free" your machine - which of course never happens.
