A word in the direction of the fans if on your way through to Wigan you fancy a stop off and a pint coaches are more than welcome in a town called Ashton in Makerfield. The pubs welcome all fans as long as they don't go looking for trouble many clubs stop in the town beer is cheap and plenty of places to eat. Golden Lion, Red Lion, probably best ones sports orientated.
