The anticipation is overwhelming. It's like waiting at the reduced counter at the local supermarket for all the reduced produce which can't be shifted at the asking price. Standby for a flurry of hectic activity bang on closing time. I just hope we don't get food poisoning from our acquisition.

In my experience, once all the 'reduced' stickers go on, they also reduce the available tills, so that you never get your goods until right at the end of the day's trading.

Wasn't too worried as other teams didn't seem to be signing players either but Norwich x3, Hull x2, Cardiff x2 and others are now doing deals.

Just like in the Summer I get the feeling that some use interest from teams like us to flush out any other interested parties and when none appear they end up contacting us again on deadline day. Just a theory.

I will be surprised if we sign anyone. Don't think we can afford any new players of the right quality. I think the existing squad will have to carry on for the rest of the season and think they are good enough to avoid relegation.
