Why does Moody have such a good rep?

Honest question, why does Ian Moody have such a good reputation in the game? I didn't know much about him before he signed and well obviously the transfer window isn't done but it hasn't exactly been great has it? At Cardiff he was involved with signing Cornelius for Ł10million who hasn't scored yet.Numerous other players such as Odemwingie and Medel haven't been great either. Especially when you consider what they paid/are paying. Interesting article about him in the DM in Dec here: [Link] Can anyone share some of his success stories? Because I don't really know of any? I would rather have one excellent signing this January than 5 average players. We have quite a large squad already. Transfer window isn't closed yet - things can still happen.

Malky Mackay obviously thought highly of him and Steve Parish was obviously impressed sufficiently to offer him a job but does his reputation spread any wider than those two?
