Quite honestly the hysteria that surrounds the transfer window and this club is well in to the territory of ridiculous.

People's only source of information on supposed "unrest" and "broken promises" are newspapers who just want to sell as many copies as possible.

Whilst I agree it is evident that Pulis is obviously unhappy that things are not going as he would like, that doesnt mean that he has been lied to, it just means that players are asking for more money than he expected.

Surely after nearly 4 years now people can begin to trust CPFC2010 to manage the long term interests of the club, and to be more honest with the supporters than any news outlet. They have never hidden the fact that they will not undermine the future of the club, and given that our previous forays in to the premiership all eventually wound up with administration, I for one applaud them for not being talked in to gambling.

If we go down then we go down as a much for financially viable club than we were a year ago, and in a better position to challenge to come back up again.

But more to the point the only thing that truly causes unrest is fans being whipped up by the press in to thinking there are problems were there are none and getting on the backs on the board. Have faith in the club, and the fact that nearly all transfers happen in the last 48 hours. If we do not sign any players its because CPFC2010 believe that it is not in the club's interests to do so. I for one will always back them.

I think that if Pulis leaves and we get relegated, people on this board will piss and moan.

However, if Pulis stays and we sign 2 or 3 top quality players, finish above 16th and stay up, people on this board will piss and moan.

It's the nature of the beast, isn't it?

I find the fact that people are willing to believe stories linking TP and Swansea surprising (to put it politely).

Let's for a second choose to believe that Swansea are fed up with Laudrup - so this is Swansea, who survived in the prem playing some brilliant football, and who have become a real commodity because of it, who may be in the market for a new manager, so who would be the obvious choice? Of course, a bloke with a reputation for ugly football (justified or not).

It's a tiny bit laughable (and I will happily eat humble pie if there turns out to be any truth in it)

I hadn't seen that story but, with all due respect to TP, why would Swansea jettison the very successful ideology and long-term planning which has made them, together with Southampton, the most attractive footballing club outside of the top 6? It would be like Ajax of the 90s calling on Dave Bassett.

Other than that, the OP appears like hormonal hysteria: either adolescent or menopausal hysteria. Stop reading the comics, get a grip and have a look at the league table. Ask yourself these questions:-

1. At the start of the season, would you have accepted 16th place after 22 games and 1 point behind Swansea?

2. In this transfer window, have we so far retained all of the personnel that have played any more than a marginal role in getting us to 16th place?

3. Is our "long-term injury to key players" position significantly better than it was at the start of the season?

If your answer to these three questions is yes, then I would respectfully suggest that the wheels are more secure and more heavily pimped than they have been for a number of years.

Are you sure this is in keeping with the metaphor?

Aye Beagle. You might be right: I maybe did get a little carried away. Just taken my beagle for a walk and calmed down.

Gotta feeling a striker from abroad is coming.
I did notice ole moaning about agents which is most likely putting the mockers on our targets as well.

Cant wait for the last 48 hours!

True but I will continue to believe that there is some truth in the rumours until either Steve Parish or Tony Pulis or preferably both of them come out and issue an emphatic denial and I'm not counting the half hearted statement that Steve Browett came out with on the BBS

We could finish 4th and people would p*ss and moan about having not finished 3rd.

Respectfully, far from the wheels coming off, I think we have the potential to have our greatest season.

Like the optimism, but I don't think we'll be finishing 2nd this season.

Feel it is right to make a point about the table.

Yes, we are in an unexpectedly good position and yes, the OP is getting a little hysteric.

It should be noted though that saying we are 16th should be placed in context, and that context is that we can mathematically be bottom again by Thursday morning. Add to that the fact that of the teams below us, Sunderland have only lost 2 of their last 10 in the league (albeit in quite a nice run of fixtures), Cardiff have brought in 6 players which Solskjaer must believe strengthens them and West Ham have brought in two well known players who have the potential to make a real difference and have Andy Carroll back from injury.

If we stand still, we go backwards, and looking at the league, we haven't got much room behind us, so the disappointment is understandable having worked so hard to be in a competitive position.

I do not think the wheels are coming off. For the wheels to come off, there has to be a loss of control. I do not think that is the case. While I may -- indeed do -- disagree with much of the way CPFC2010 are presently running the club, the fact is they are plainly running it to their own plan in their own way. They appear to me to be acting deliberately and totally in control. Therefore, while I may not like what they are doing with that control, the wheels are clearly not coming off but, in contrast, remain firmly in place. It's quite possible to go down with the wheels on. CPFC2010 seem to me to be trying very hard to prove this.
