To be fair to Dougie he was very good at identifying fantastic (usually youngish) talent at a very low price.

It's an impressive list:

O'Keefe
Jedinak
Ward
Parr
Murray
Bolasie

Where would we be without many of those players??

It was Burley after Freedman's recommendation. He arrived the same time as Edgar Davids did.

Not sure if sarcasm or not but was Freedman, or maybe he was part of the staff after being brought from southend?

no sarcasm here, genuinely think he is fast developing into a top quality player, obviously someone saw something in him back then.

I meant the sarcasm as in did we know who it was you knew the answer

oh right im with you now, no i had no idea who it was, i remember hearing something about freedman but he wasnt in charge back then, so wondered who was.

apparently it was Burley, perhaps the only decent thing he achieved at the club then bringing in O'Keefe.

And Delaney.

He should start in CM instead of Ward imo. Put Ward back at RB where he is much more comfortable and effective

Agree about Ward but O'Keefe gets booked every game so he'd not play that many games!

DF recommended him to Burley. In my eyes, he's a Freedman signing (or you could say DF takes the credit), although officially Burley signed him.

So, if O'Keefe was a DF signing, as many on here say, then that means Popovic takes the credit for Jedi, and Iversen for Parr, but whenever that comes up, it's never the case.

We've had some good recommendations for players since 2010 took over, and about a 75% success rate with DF starting it off. Not bad, and it's meant that with £300k transfer fees and a controlled wage structure, there's a group mentality and room to amend in emergencies.

If DF identified O'Keefe, Ward, Murray, Bolasie, which he did, then Popovic identified Jedinak and Iversen identified Parr. You left out Moritz. He wasn't a target either. Landed at Beckenham with his boots via Andy Gray.

Can add Moritz to that..who I think is more a PL player than a championship one and I wished we had held onto him
