I can't stand the Arthur personally and have the same criteria as you with my season ticket. The Arthur gets a blinding glare from the winter sun as the sun sets over in the corner between the Main and Holmesdale. It also has pillars that obstruct the view...

That's just my personal opinion and I know people love it over there. The atmosphere is great at the back of Arthur, but the seats are poo too.

I'm block E Holmesdale. We have a sing and stand up for goalmouth action down our end, but are seated most of the game. Can hear the block B quite well. Row 23+ is also a must. I'm row 33.

I've been in A and C previously too. A was standing all game and a good atmosphere right next to the HF. Got a bit wet when it rained though!

I was in C whilst it was still a seated block and last year, as standing became more prolific, instead of moaning, I just moved

One sensible palace fan, and the OP being another sensible fan who is doing a bit of research and finding out the areas of the ground which would suit him best.

He wants to sit, so that's fine - don't buy a ticket in a standing area.

Simple really isn't it?

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

It doesn't matter as we usually stand in there

Cheers mate, yeah I've sat in Block E before.

What are everyones opinions of the Upper Holmesdale? Been in it only once when I was younger and enjoyed probably just because of the height aha

Wherever you sit there will be moaning from 1) the standers 2) the sitters 3) the sun watchers 4) those who get wet and 5) sometimes about the football. I know, stay at home and save your season ticket money!

Great view of the pitch and good leg room. I was up there for a few years but had to move when the ST became too expensive. If you are above block c/d then the atmosphere can be quite good. No standing, at least there never used to be.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

I try not to moan. Arthur is a good laugh for standing and atmosphere but I do prefer a sit down.

As others have said, upper is great view wise but a bit steep price wise.

Can't honestly say I haven't moaned about the football on occasion though!!

Enjoy your ST mate!

Arthur is a good laugh for standing and atmosphere but I do prefer a sit down.

Many years ago,I used to watch games from the 'Arthur Wait' and there was NO standing around me.Can't remember but I think it was Block V, Row 28.Bernard Ingham used to sit in the row in front of me.Stephen Browett used to be in the 'AW'.
