I think we are cooling ourselves that the lower teams will be easier, they are also fighting relegation and will be compact whereas the flair teams do so by opening up play..so other than city and Chelsea at home I think we could do well, away I think will be hard at Sunderland, west ham and Cardiff, but I do think we will stay up and I can't fooking wait to party!!

The pressure will be on them to turn us over though as they are at home - we play on the counter...I fancy our chances in some of those games

Cardiff & west ham away are going to be key I think

and if it does go to the last day, can't see Fulham playing for anything but pride.

After yesterday's games, some interesting facts and stand out run ins.

Sunderland have away games at Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Man C, Man U, Norwich and Spurs.

Norwich last 4 games are Liverpool Man U (h) Chelsea Arsenal (h)

W Ham last 4 games are CPFC (h) WBA Spurs (h) Man C

CPFC only has Everton and Newcastle away in remaining 7 away games - the rest are at Swansea, Sunderland, Cardiff, West Ham and Fulham.

We have this in our destiny to survive (and hopefully by the time we play West Ham).

I still believe that its more down to other teams dropping points than us getting them, the problem seems to be that everyone else gets good results against side that they should not even put up a point against. But if we can stay above Norwich, fulham and sunderland between now and April think we will be ok.

You're implying that it's not in our hands. It is. This whole concept of other teams around us getting decent results to our detriment is a myth.

We stay up by getting points on the board, not by hoping that those around us f*ck up. It really is that simple.

Yes I am saying that when teams like Norwich get 3 points against the likes of Spurs, then yes we need other teams to start f**King up, just as much as we need to get points.

You are right AJ. No matter where you are you are always relying on others to drop points. Good if you can win all your games, but seeing as we won't we need others to stumble also.
Sick of playing well against the good sides and getting nothing.

We cant rely on our rivals f**ing up-we have to get maximum points ourselves.

I might be the ultimate pessimist but whichever way I look at it I really cannot see us surviving.I realise some TV pundits have said we will stay up- lets hope they are right and I am hopelessly wrong !

It will go down to the last game of the season against Fulham. It's the palace way.

12 Games, and I reckon we need at most 12 points. So very definitely in our grasp based on form. Ideally we can win 1/3rd of our remaining games - and we're home and dry.

Yes, and if we don't pick up points when others do, we're screwed. It's in our hands.

See my point?

Steve Bruce thinks 38 points will be enough for survival.

what the OP is saying is if we average a point a game, so long as the teams below us don't score higher averages, as they will leap frog us. We all can't win... but if we lose, we want others to lose - it's a no brainer
