We need to persuade Network Rail to vacate Selhurst Depot. Perfect spot that could be linked direct to Selhurst Station.

Been saying that for years.

Would be ideal but don't see Network Rail vacating their Selhurst Depot.
CP Park, or any other site within 2-4 miles of SP, with improved access/transport links, would be equally good.

I would put up with going to another stadium for one season whilst building work was going on !! If it meant an even better stadium then why not???

Wonder if Charlton would return the favour and allow us to share the Valley for a season or two?

If we play for an extended period of time at any ground that isn't selhurst, it will be the olympic stadium

The way I see it, the only point in getting a new stadium is to increase capacity. It cannot be a coincidence the top clubs have the biggest grounds and those clubs that ought to be be there have the same facility, (Sheff Wed, Leeds). I suppose if you want the best players you need to pay the best wages. Income provides for that. A 40,000 capacity must be the very least for Palace to develop.

If we can get to 35-40k, we would likely sell some much cheaper upper level seats.

Agree at current prices it isn't realistic, but remember there are lots of blue collars who are currently priced out and can only afford a few games per year.

I like the idea of a new ground at CP Park on the old National Athletics Stadium. Overground station is a modest walk away. I went to the World Cup in 2006 and saw England v Sweden in Cologne. Their stadium was in the middle of a forest outside town. Fantastic and good facilities to enter and exit. However, realistically, Selhurst Park redevelopment is most likely, and it is OUR HOME.

Has anyone thought of South Norwoods Recreational Ground? Or the allotments just north of Selhurst Depot?

Both are next to Norwood Junction or Selhurst Station so very easy to get to

Not a lot of space there either but worth exploring?

Actually, it's not. Our home is more or less what you just mentioned. The National Sports Centre. Look it up. And after that, our home is the Selhurst Rail Depot at it's now known, but was formerly The Nest. Selhurst is only our latest home. It's not our original one.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

The idea of seeing a 40,000+ crowd in Selhurst again is very appealing, (what an atmosphere it was). However, we have never, in our entire history, averaged crowds above 30,000. Is it worth having a stadium that you can fill only five times a season when all the other games have yawning gaps in the stands? And realistically if we go back to the Championship any time we are likely to have a lot of empty space. In the medium term I think 35,000 would be more than enough.

Palace did once average gates in excess of 35,000, and often more for a short time. Croydon is the biggest borough in London, and therefore UK. So we need to be confident Palace will fill a 40,000 stadium. Unless we accept Palace will never be a really top club. Not sure I want to do that!

We have never averaged 35,000 over a season.

Spurs might have had the same problem with the AVB policy.

We should be returning to our original location.....Sodding vested interests.

It's where anyone new to the area would expect the club to be.....Proper links, far better sited.

I'll say again....Proxy vested interests....When we finally have the money they don't want to know.
