Paul was asked about Tom and he said he's keeping his options open for when he's out of contract but sided to Tom going abroad as a good move for him after the season ends. Said that this loan period was about seeing if he could adapt to the premier league and show case his talents.
In short if he's a success here will be very hard to keep him next season.

Don't really see how going abroad, especially to a team with the money of Monaco, could be better than guaranteed Premiership football (providing we stay up).

Not enough English players go abroad to learn different footballing styles and philosophies. It should be ecouraged and I think it would benefit our national team to know that there are other ways to play football.

He's on loan, so I'd be happy for him to move on if he wants, or stay. As long as between now and then he puts in the kind of commitment and effort seen against West Brom.

If he turns out to be as good as his father, we'd have trouble holding onto him. Sign him if we can, but as long as he does the business between now and the end of the season I don't care.

Completely agree. So long as he's going to get into the first team and not just sit on a bench, it should do him the world of good.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

Agree, he's not ours and I wouldn't be disappointed if he chose to go elsewhere come this summer. We never really had him.

My view is that I'm delighted to have him, I want 100% commitment to the cause while he's here, and I'd like him to get us some results. As he seems to be checking all boxes at the moment, I reckon we just show him our love and demonstrate that his best career option is staying at Selhurst but if he does move on in the summer, then he does so with our thanks for helping to keep us up.

He's no Bostock...he'll be well advised (already has been, given that he ended up at Selhurst.) The only thing I would add is that we need, as a club, to show some ambition in the sense that not just surviving, we need to start thinking about finishing 10th. Even on this board, we need to demonstrate a higher self-regard. I mean someone has to finish 10th...why not us? If we start to create a perception that we are club that wants to be on the up rather than one that strives to avoid going down, it will help us attract the sort of player we need to progress and even, perhaps, help us to survive.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

I'd agree with you if we weren't the ones who would lose out because of it!

I think it's unlikely he'll stay beyond the end of the season (unless he loves it here so much).

As long as he gives 100% and helps make the difference and keep us up, then I'm happy to remember him in the same way as Ashley Cole, and that they gave their all for CPFC while using us as an opportunity to move onto bigger things.

If he plays well and scores a few more goals, I can only see him going abroad or to a top 4/5 team.

It's a win-win for me. He plays well for the rest of the season, helps keep us up while showing he can cut it at the top level. He then gets a move to a big club here or abroad and Pulis gets the summer to rebuild the squad.

What's not to like?
