How many of our new so called 'plastics' where at Sheffield Wednesday on that famous day in May 2010.
I do love being in the premier league but being in that near 5000 strong crowd going mental at the end is what being a palace fan is all about.

I agree with Bubble Wrap i won't be that gutted if we do go down as the Championship is exciting and we will get the hardcore fans only at away games.

Zzzzzzzzzz.......I sing louder than you do, I have a bigger collection of palace kits than you, I have more posters on my wall than you, I have longer pubes than you, Nenenene......shut up you B*llend.

Genius. I wasn't there. Couldn't afford the journey and was studying at uni. Shame on me!!!

Well, I hope the live BBC TV coverage of the match didn't distract you from your studies. Hope you got a 2:1.

I watched the game at home [my Palace kit on for Goodluck]with my girlfriend at the time, with whom going to away games was always a mission.
Does this make me a plastic?

Hope you don't mind me asking but what was she wearing at the time? If it was also a Palace kit, any chance of a photo?

I hardly ever go to any games. I'm such a bad plastic supporter. I normally only try to get tickets to the big games. I also bring people with me to games who have never been to palace games before.

When things started to go well last season I started going to a lot more games. It came to my attention that I was a plastic at Middlesbrough at home last season. I had outrageously asked the angry teenager next to me if he thought he'd be able to win in a fight with Albert Adomah who he kept calling a c**t.

My first game this year was Southampton away which I went to with an Arsenal supporter. An unpleasant chap in the row behind me had a go at me (with lots of swearing in front of his 10 year old son) for asking him who number 46 was because I am a plastic fan. Despite this the Arsenal supporter that day who's been to a few Palace games since.

In 1999 I bought along a Manchester United supporter with me. He abandoned the treble winners for a club that had just gone into administration and bought a season ticket the year after and has been going ever since.

The OP has to realise that everyone has to start supporting Palace somewhere and that others of us haves lives which mean we can't go to every game. Please encourage people to come along and be part of our great club.

I don't think being at Sheffield Wednesday even makes someone qualified as a "non-plastic" as that was one of the biggest games in our history. I went Hull away mid week last season with work the next day when we drew 0-0.. Doesn't make me a bigger palace fan then anyone else. I for one do not like the plastic fans coming in just because we are in the premiership as I personally think they would've supported Arsenal last season and that's not what football is about (I had a fan telling me to shut the f*** up because I was "too loud" in arthur W at the Norwich game!?). Having said that, the criteria of some fans "what makes you a hardcore fan" is ridiculous. For example, I only registered on holmesdale earlier this year and on more than one occasion this season have been labelled a "plastic" due to not signing upto a message board? That's so ridiculous it makes me laugh.

Moving onto the point I was originally making - going to one of the biggest matches in the clubs history does not make you an anymore loyal fan then anyone else - if anything, some would argue it's the complete opposite!

But what do I really know, I didn't go to that game and quite clearly do not support crystal palace, what am I even doing here?

Those who turned up though were there when the club needed us the most!

So you're more bothered about the fans than the team on the pitch! Oh. My. God.

Well done you for saving our club. In respect to all of you who went, when our club so desperately needed you, the owners should have called themselves cpfc5000. Selhurst should also drop it's capacity to 5000 so only those sheff wed faithful can ever watch Palace again, as you clearly are the only Palace fans who truly care.
A proper bunch of legg ends.

I'm a big advocate of the high-grade construction adhesive commonly used to bond ceiling, wall, and floor tiles, plywood panels, concrete, asphalt, leather and fabric.

Does that make me a mastic fan?

Agreed and tbh I would've done anything to of gone to that match but I was 15 at the time and didnt fund my own trips to Palace back then but the point I'm tryna make is in response to someone claiming someone not turning up to a huge game makes you a "fake fan" when any football fan would go to a huge football match regardless of the team if the circumstances are right and the offer is there. In a sense, yes, we did have a better atmosphere last season and there seemed to be more genuine support at Selhurst - I'm all for people being converted to Palace (I'm always bringing other people along and trying to convert them from being a Man united/Arsenal/Liverpool glory hunter to Palace!) but the thing I cant stand is people turning up who didnt give a flying f*** about us when we was facing extinction or being a mid table, mediocre championship side but are now "die-hard, hard core" palace fans.

There's a balance, some peoples claims as to why they are bigger palace fans then others are quite frankly ludicrous but on the other hand some people are fake fans, who then have the nerve to moan and groan at Selhurst when we aren't winning, or because someone near them is "too loud" or just simply do not get behind the team - thats what pisses me off, if you are palace then you are palace through the ups and downs, the good and bad and not just when your local team is in the prem.

I'll say it once again though to people who don't understand - your length of time registered on a message board says nothing about your loyalty to the club in comparison to someone else!

We're the Arthur over ere!

This is elitist cr@p. I loath those fans who claim that the only "true" fans are those delivered by midwifes on the centre spot almost as much as I pity those silly folks from the Home Counties who live and sleep in Man Utd replica shirts. Mods please close this tedious thread.

Spot on. Another 'I'm a better Palace fan than you are' thread.Grow up cos it's just very boring. And yes I was at Hillsborough and also Edgely Park in 2001 but I don't think that entitles me to think I'm any better than any other Palace fan.

Totally agree, it's almost a toddler thing at play school. Goes in, plays with the toys, has fun then throws the mother of all hissy fits when a new toddler comes along and wants to play too.
Laughable. Some people really need to grow up
