I don't think I've ever heard a song sung on the terraces that is a complete, fan written original. All the songs come from popular culture, like football itself. In this light it must be imposible for anyone to claim they 'invented' or even introduced a terrace chant. In Arsenal's 1970 double winning season Bob Wilson, their goalkeeper (Very boring man) suggested he'd written a song for the fans to sing at Wembley. called 'Good 'ol Arsenal', it was in fact a reworded 'Rule Brittania'. Just like the
man, boring and unoriginal. And he was so smuggly contend and self-congratulating. A bit like Arsenal fans in fact!

They have, sing it about Vincent Company - in fact belgium even nicked it off them and were singing it in their world cup qualifiers.

Many fans have Infact... heard it in the bundesliga every other week for the past few seasons.

We cant claim the tune to that one im afraid... simon and garfunkel probably have copyright on that.


It's not the point I'm making at all. I fully appreciate they may have had it as a song they used for 20+ years, but us going down there has clearly inspired them to get it properly going at games, I never heard then sing it on motd until after we went there this season so we clearly have made an impact, which is brilliant to see.

And as someone else has pointed out all this "arent we the best fans" self promotion is getting a bit boring now.

By all means lets sing and get behind team as we do well... but lets not become arrogant and over the top about it. Let's have a bit more class than that please.

Why would anyone be annoyed that we are loud and proud of it lol?

Nonsense is a bit harsh - its based on peoples opinions, kind of the concept of a message board - if you don't like people praising our support and being proud of it then don't do it, I'm sure its not gonna effect you too badly if other Palace fans to decide to talk about how food our support is.

Know one has become arrogant - if your the best team in the league and its clear for everyone to see, you would talk about how you are the best team in the world and its clear for everyone to see.

Same goes for if you are the best fans in the league and its clear for everyone to see - which in my opinion is more important than anything else.

In more than one occasion last season we were a 12th man and praising and acknowledging it does not make you arrogant or "not classy" lol thats just stupid.

I know its off topic but having spoke to people at Selhurst on a Saturday but this season especially, more and more people have become whiny on the site and always want to disagree with everything people say just for the sake of it.

That, I think, is more boring than someone who says we have the best fans in the league.


What I think is annoying people is the amount that everyone keeps going on about our fans. Yes without doubt we are one of the best around but its almost like there are a load of people going to games that havent been before/for years..............

I actually think this is a fair point - I don't think everyone has to sing or be up all match because some people would prefer to sit down and just enjoy the match but what gets to me is people who pay for seats in the loudest parts of the ground to stand there and moan that people are being too loud

I agree with that. Luckily ive never seen that at any palace game ive been to. If I did I would very annoying to hear

I agree with that. Luckily ive never seen that at any palace game ive been to. If I did I would very annoying to hear

I had some c*** telling me I was giving him a headache because i was screaming too loud in Arthur Wait block W on new years day, it almost kicked off haha! I just told him if you dont like it, f*** off and sit in the main stand, t***
