Christ. We're going purely by stats now are we? Why even bother playing games, we can just look at who has the highest rating like a game of top trumps.

KG has been in the starting XI more often than not under every manager he has had at Palace. People who work with the players every day and know more about football than anyone on this site have decided he is a valuable player and worth his place.

Personally, I do think the signing of Ledley will see his contribution get a bit smaller, but writing off a player who has been so key in some of our biggest results of the last three years is ridiculous.

Like the playoff final?

O'Keefe was immense when he came on.

Stats don't lie.... and for me bear out my gut feeling that he's out of his depth in the Prem.

I appreciate that he has had good games for us and his attitude and work rate are good.

Had we not been forced into that substitution, I firmly believe we would have won that in full time, as Bolaise would have been available and openned Watford right up.

I think its telling how well KG does in that role that Ward had trouble adjusting to the role.

Very good point. Very often we say, when a player is unnoticed it means he is doing a good job. But could it also mean that player is struggling to do his job and has not the time or ability to do better. I think if a player gets picked time and again by a manager who seems to know what he is doing, that may say enough about him. But there have been players in the past that really are crap and keep getting picked, like the manager wants to make his point, like over an expensive signing. I can think of one or two and Malcom Allison's obsessions with one or two come to mind. But with KG...I'm sure this is not the case.

I don't really rate him in the Premiership. Last season he had a few really good games and a few dire ones. At this level he flatters to deceive.
I believe if we stay up TP is going to replace him in the summer. Maybe he could go back to both the Championship and Fulham at the same time.

Given KG"s form in recent matches I just cannot understand why Pulis insists on playing him. Today against the Saints he was pathetic and I cannot believe that Okeefe would ever be as bad as KG was today. In fact, we really had no mid-field and just when we thought our lads would give us a second half rally there was nobody in mid-field capable of raising even a whimper. Today ,as far as midfield is concerned, was probably one of the worse displays I have seen perhaps with the exception of the Fulham match. I'm afraid Pulis has got to look very profoundly at our mid-field because we do not cut it and this situation could eventually be our undoing. With Puncheon having a very poor game we seemed thread bare as a team which does not look good for the final run in.

We make like 3 passes per game and sit on the edge of our box for the entire game! That's the problem

Is the right answer

I was hoping Ledley was going to be KG's replacement but he still gets picked by Pulis. I sometimes forget that KG is even on the field as he never seems to be doing anything.

Ledley must play the kg role asap

KG is rubbish and overweight

Me saying he is not up to it at the vast majority of games is one thing, the stats also back me. Today

10/18 passes
3/5 headed duels
0 clearances
0 shots
56% pass completion
2 interception
0 tackles

Jedi:
20/30 passes
1/2 headed duels
5 interceptions
5/5 clearances
1/3 tackles
