all great however you are forgetting that he must have the worst distribution as a CB in the whole league. I don't think he can physically pass the ball and I noticed this especially against Swansea, all he can do is long diagonal hoofs across the pitch, it is where most of our bad performances stem from as we cant actually retain the ball. Nearly every time he had the ball vs Swansea he played the long diagonal hoof up the pitch & kept giving the ball straight back to them. Been a solid defender for us this season though. When I wa a lad that was what a "centre half" was supposed to do. Although we probably would not have understood the instruction "diagonal".

I love Damo. A player I considered championship quality at best has proved me wrong. He's done a job on a number of quality players this season with the Everton/Lukaku game a stand out for me. He had a decent amount of success last season with the diagonal ball, so I don't blame him for trying it.

This is why Pulis has brought in Dann he wants a player to be able to make a no nonsense clearance (Delaney) and a player who can distribute it well out of the back 4 (Dann) Its called having a balanced defence, No CB we could get will be a master of everything, so we need to get 2 CB's that have 2 different qualities as well as being Solid. Damo is a leader and a model Pro, he is the type of player I would like to finish his career at palace and would love him to get a coaching role, if Paddy Leaves Damo will be Vice Captain and if Jedi goes the Captaincy should go to Damo. He is everything that is right about football. John Terry on the other hand......

For me DD is a player that plays with his heart showing, but his hoofball distribution is nothing but awful. Why not a short pass to nearest teammate, never understand that whatever TP might have told him.

I don't think Damo was ever given a contract based on his passing abilty! However he is dependable and solid in most other areas, one of our most improved players this season and is now a solid contender for POTY.

The difference is, Delaney is actually a good defender. His distribution is poor, but he's been our unsung hero this season.
