Having Muzza back is a waste of time...we created absolutely nothing and the way we have, and will set up is reminiscent of the way he was isolated under Freedmans darkest days..no one was ever close enough to him all day for him to be able to win it and then lay it off

Jedinak, Puncheon and KG were simply dreadful and didn't keep the ball at all - you cant even call it misplaced passes as a 'pass' infers there was some effort to find a team mate at least..it was like watching 8 year olds just fling a boot at the ball

Puncheon is my bete noir in the team - I simply still don't rate him and I still struggle to see exactly what he brings. KG is out of his depth by miles, you could have put my 9 year old out there today and she would have given more physicality - which is why he is there

The most frustrating thing today was Southampton were actually there for the taking, good side or not and we simply handed the game on a plate.

Pulis must, MUST shake up the formation or we will simply go down on a raft of 1-0 defeats...the set up we have simply does not have goals in it and its no real plan cedeing possession to the opposition and trying to break - we simply don't have the players

He has to start going 4-4-2 - maybe a diamond (4-1-3-2) with speed out wide and only one shield in from of the back four

Bananaman and Gayle have to get a look in too...how many games do we need to see Cameron Jerome isn't the answer to anything

Webb was simply dreadful, the ego driven cock but its not his fault we were completely s***.

We will go down if we continue as we are tactically

True - and let down by his assistants too - Pulis has just said this -

"We've just watched the video and the disappointing thing was the first two offsides as both Glenn Murray and Joe Ledley are onside. The linesman has given two offsides and both of them were on, through and past the back four onto goal.

"That was very disappointing and they were in the first quarter of an hour."

From the Holmesdale end i thought these looked dodgy decisions at the time, lino was awful.

I'm sorry but the players who are not here ie: Williams and Okeefe are no improvement on what we have. We missed out on a striker in the transfer window that's where our main problem lies IMO , I really don't see what Kg adds to the team. Dann was a great purchase he is working well with Damion. Get Ledley alongside Jedi for a few games so they can form an understanding.

Our problems lies in the fact we play on the edge of our own penalty are for 70 minutes hoping that random hoofs upfield might get lucky...we could have Van Persie upfront and it wouldn't make a blind bit of difference

I beg to differ if Rvp was there it wold make a massive difference. I'm feeling a tad of sarcasm in your post lol. If and it's a big if we had got Long and Jelievec or however you spell it there are so many more attacking options. I said it at the time for the money they were bought for was cheap. Especially as if they are the difference between staying up. We do sit to deep suck up the pressure and try and get goal on the break, good plan but we don't have the personnel to do it.

Just a little tad...

I agree we needed a forward but the way we play I still don't think Pulis would change the formation.

He MUST trust the back four more and play a more attacking game or we are doomed.

Before the season I thought we would go down and somehow we have ground out a way to give ourselves half a chance - how disappointing would it be if our plan to 'strangle' regardless of who the are, the oppo, sees us down when we will never know if going for it a little more may have kept us up against the likes of Swansea, Norwich, Southampton et al

Having been to the match and seen 1st hand in holmesdale upper... the REF and linesmen were a disgrace... loads of big mistakes inc a definite penalty .... they were allowed to push shove and foul and get away with it....This did not help us at all.........

Don't think that was such a terrible game. I'd agree that we were pretty blunt going forward, but still thought we shaded a very tight match against a good, obstinate team.

We just blinked first, gave them the goal thanks to one big mistake, and that decided it. Puncheon was rubbish all round. On the balance of play, it should have been 0-0, which would have been another valuable point.

Ref was piss poor, I used to really rate Howard Webb but he made a lot of baffling decisions with shocking double standards. Southampton committed and won a lot of dodgy fouls. I was disappointed in Lallana, he's a great little player but only seemed interested in getting cheap free kicks.

Have to say, Luke Shaw was mustard though. Him vs Wardy was a great tussle!

We had one shot from YB at the end of the half - They also hit the post, had a last ditch slide from Delaney that stopped a certain goal and Lamberts free kick went just over - and that's just off the top of my head

They had most of the ball and at times we didnt even press for it, I am not even sure we won a second ball all game - They weren't at their best either which makes it even more frustrating - especially in the first half when they misplaced passes under no pressure.

If it wasn't for the fat pissed cock in our row who kept making me laugh I don't think I have had a worse afternoon all year

I was equally disappointed with how the fans, specifically in the mid and lower parts of the Arthur participated all through the match. I take pride in the 'sing all the time' motto, but today felt like it was 'sing when you're winning' atmosphere, which we weren't.

Just before the goal, we went down the left and the place was rocking like normal. Goal goes in. Everyone shuts up.

It was a crap game. The officials were bad, but they didn't change the game. The fans all together were poor from the start (compared to normal).

Ledley, Ward and Bolasie were the only positives you can take from the game.

Cameron Jerome will do one thing in about 6 games, today he beats a man and gets a cross straight across the 6 yard box and no one is in the right area to put it away. This cost us the points today, more than any crap refereeing decision did.

That said, I am still confident we'll stay up. Fulham are dead and buried now. Just got to hope that we will perform better than 2 other teams.

When was the last time our oppo didn't have most of the ball!

Maybe I'm too easily pleased, we clearly saw the match differently. But Saints are a good side, and particularly good at strangling games when in front. Yes we made very few clear cut chances (OK, maybe none!), but we kept it a close game. We just paid dearly for one howler, as we have done a few times this season.

2 up front and stick it to 'em at Sunderland! COYP
