Very interesting read. I'm not a Howard Webb fan it must be said. As a former ref myself it is a very difficult job but the art of good refereeing is CONTROL. You are constantly "putting out small fires" all over the pitch between players, as soon as you let that "fire" become too big then you've lost control of the match. Witness the WC final when he gave out 15 cards I think. Some of the decisions this season with regards to handball in particular are confusing to say the least!

I think he made a mistake when Bolasie was brought down when clear through by not sending off the Southampton player and there were one or two "second" fouls which IMO would be second cautions. He is definately not Englands best ref, Oliver is IMO but he'll probably get the nod for the World Cup!
