I am sorry Mr.Pulis but I do not agree with your belief " we did alright and competed ". Probably one of the worse home games this season with the exception of the Fulham match. We had no mid-field and with the exception of Murray and to some extent Bolasie nobody seemed to put in a complete shift up front. You can no longer play KG if you want us to believe we can stay up so lets go back to the drawing boards and rebuild our mid-field before we go north.

In all seriousness it was only a silly mistake that separated the sides, remember saints have a great defencive record

A silly mistake for the goal yes but the gulf that separated the sides was massive and the disappointing thing was that was down to us being awful as much as them being a good side

I disagree. Thought we competed well with probably the best side outside of 'big' five or six.

I disagree more...we didn't 'compete'...for the most part they where entirely comfortable all afternoon

They are a good side but we simply didn't give them a game

Don't forget though, that Southampton got promoted with a very strong team that stormed the league, and have had an extra season to invest in strengthening their team , spending twelve million quid on one bloke. We on the other hand scraped promotion with a team made up of a lot of players that nobody else particularly wanted, so although I agree that there was a difference in class, we still definitely competed, and did not embarrass ourselves.

Thing is Hastings we might have huffed and puffed but we weren't competitive...for Pulis to suggest that is simply silly

I think I just need a couple of Jamesons in me - didn't even get a chance for a pint or two today - that may have nulled the pain

Had it been a 0-0 draw, we would have been a lot more optimistic - clean sheet and picked up a point.

Fact is, puncheon made a mistake and we were punished - at this level, at this moment of the season we need every player switched on - from start to finish, with every kick and movement they need to be 100% committed and aware of what they are doing and what is around them.

Like the penalties at Spurs/Man U, like the poor defensive clearances like today and against stoke, those 5 moments of madness where we shut down after the half time break - we will get punished.

With Pulis he has turned things around - but the way the game is, the speed, the attention to detail, these players really need to earn the fortune they are paid.

If it is true that Punch is a sensitive guy, is he really the one we need in a relegation scrap? Compared to say a hungry home grown talent (Stu O'K as example).

While i'm at it, Holloway is muppet, look at who he signed - Kebe, Phillips, McCarthy, Marange, Grandin - come on now - if we had picked up 4 points more from his terrible spell, look where we would be.

Palace is a frustrating team to support - but i love 'em

Delany, playing with a broken nose - Speroni still on form, Ward being class..

Shocking performance today. No passion, desire or quality.

FFS is totally wasted on his own up front. Not one midfield player was up and around him looking to win the secon ball. Reminded me very much of how he had to play under Freedman.

As for Puncheon, I just dont see what he brings to the side at all. How we gave this man a 4.5 year contract is beyond me. In the Premier you cant select players that are so incosistent week on week.

I feel for the likes of Bannan and Gayle, for me they could offer far more than Jerome, KG, Puncheon and Thomas.

Officials also dire today, but not an excuse for our lacklustre performance.

Yes but did we ever look like scoring, no. The 2nd half was poor, we created little and never looked like scoring or troubling Boruc.

Murray thrives on good crosses, but we couldn't even put in bad ones today until near the end. Sorry, but I actually want the opposition to score, so that we at last push higher up the field and actually try and score a goal. In the last four games Pulis decided that we would be allowed to attack WBA because he was afraid of them, but since then he has set us up vs Utd, Swansea and Saints to not lose. He's saying we aren't good enough to take the game to them, so let's sit back give them possession and hope to strangle the life out of the game and maybe get lucky with a set piece. Not enjoying this one bit, I mean we aren't not keeping the ball we ain't even trying to keep the ball.
