Please Mr Pulis, never let Cameron be a part of our team, rest our South African for remainder of the season and have players like Guedioura, Gayle (remember his goal at Villa Park?), Bannan and SOK. OK, Puncheon has scored a few but also cost us dearly - penalty at WHL and hopeless header yesterday coupled with a miserable performance. Where is the fighting spirit? And why is it so difficult to pass the ball 5 yards to nearest teammate? These are professionals practising these things week in and week out. FFS Murray was all over the place: he's brilliant goalscorer not a wing or chasing midfielder. Please TP, u are a shrewd manager, but why so stubborn and keep the same players all the time?

Can't believe some on here are insinuating they'd like to get rid of TP! I tell you what, if the board chose differently we could have had an 'R' next to our name in a couple of weeks...

Good post.

Worth the wait.

Yep....... amen to that.

Pulis has worked wonders to get us where we are, don't forget that.

indeed hoof...

lets be clear here...weve played s*** football for 90% of the season with little idea when going forward.

now people seem to think it should change.

we aint got the ability in the squad to play good football...if we did we would be.

we do however IMO have the ability to get more in an attacking sense, but blame pulis for this? madness!

I am sorry Mr.Pulis but I do not agree with your belief " we did alright and competed ". Probably one of the worse home games this season with the exception of the Fulham match. We had no mid-field and with the exception of Murray and to some extent Bolasie nobody seemed to put in a complete shift up front. You can no longer play KG if you want us to believe we can stay up so lets go back to the drawing boards and rebuild our mid-field before we go north.

Rubbish,
Apart from the goal it was a totally even game. Neither side deserved to win or lose. A draw would have been a fair result and Southampton know it.
KG is IMO crap but the team as a whole competed and restricted Southampton to one real chance in 90minutes!

Wrong. Southampton won in a canter and were not given a tough enough game for the three points. They looked comfortable whilst we looked bereft of ideas and talent. Which we are.

Are you blind or something?
In all seriousness it was only a silly mistake that separated the sides, remember saints have a great defencive record

Absolutely, probably the best defence i've seen at Selhurst this season, they dealt with absolutely everything we threw at them. Albeit not much.

You only need look at our record against the teams in the top of half of the table to realise there exists a gap in terms of class. With the exception of the first 30 minutes at Anfield, we haven't been ' turned over ', but we have competed well without really threatening to win any of those games.

Yesterday the game was decided by a mistake that was still high enough up the pitch that you would hope we would get away with it, but at this level, hope is all you can do, mistakes are usually punished.

I think some of the criticism on here is a bit harsh. Take away that unfortunate error and the game had 0-0 written all over it, and I for one would have gone away happy with a useful point. I saw plenty of effort against a team that plays effective possession football.

As for team selection, Murray needs game time so he's getting it, but the service into him needs huge improvement. I think Jerome is a waste of space, reminds me of Andy Preece, but other options are limited. Gayle has been a huge disappointment, the Villa goal excepted. Pulis has made us hard to beat but with our lack of goal threat, we struggle to win games as well.

The officials I thought were poor, if that's our top ref then that speaks volumes about the lack of quality available.

So, disappointing yesterday but I still think there is three worst teams than us in this league.

If we go down playing football, I will be fine with that. If we survive playing this tripe for the next 5 or so years, well I definitely ain't fine with that.
Just my personal preference, but the division is not important, it's the way we play.

I beg to differ, Premiership = £60m p/a. Championship = £2m p/a. I know which one I'd prefer.

I just want to see my team play football. The dream of ever being successful is really gone nowadays and with financial fair play coming in it will ensure the big stay big and the lesser teams can never overspend to compete with the aid of a sugar daddy. If we stay in the division playing like Southampton then count me in, playing like we are right now, sorry it's just horrible to watch and at times downright embarrassing.
People saying TP has done well, but he now has to actually overachieve, because we have been through the easiest part of our schedule and the ridiculous way the fixtures have been set this year means we have a very hard run in with no cushion of winnable home games.
The fixture computer needs a complete overhaul, there is no way that Utd, Arsenal, Norwich or Palace should have the sort of runs they have. You have to play everyone twice, but it should be spread out a little. I mean we played Southampton, Fulham and Liverpool when Ollie was still in charge.

Really, Chamakh, Murray, Bolasie, Puncheon, Thomas, Bannan, Williams (I know), Gayle, Pep, Ledley, Ince.
Are the squads at Stoke, Norwich, Cardiff, WBA, Sunderland. Hull, Swansea, Fulham, Villa really so far superior to ours? They don't seem to give up against the better teams and actually attack them and have been rewarded for it at times.

Most of them players accept Williams, Guediora, Bannan play week in week out. Gayle has played off the bench plenty and looks useless. People seem like better players when there not playing Gayle is s*** and inconsistent one good goal against Villa and that's it. Does anyone remember how bad he was when he was starting week in week out. Ince was shocking yesterday.

Ince is new to the side so a little leniency is fair enough, but there is a lot of attacking talent there, but they are rarely allowed to go out and express themselves. They are stifled and I don't agree with the regular line either. Murray is just starting his season, Gayle has hardly featured this year, Ledley and Ince are new to the side and Thomas has been injured all year, so that really only leaves Chamakh, Bolasie and Puncheon who fit the start every week label.
Our wide players play as auxilliary full backs until we thankfully go a goal behind and then we see what they are capable of. The problem is we know we can't score twice in a game. The more players you commit forward the better chance you have of scoring and we may actually stay up because at sometime TP will have to give them licence to attack.

The thing is we tried to attack Southampton the whole game it just amounted to nothing. That is not the midfielders faults but the striker. KG was better then Jedinak.

The striker was Murray, who ran his heart out and won nearly everything in the air. He was given no support by the wingers until we conceded as they were deployed deep looking after their fullbacks. Our fullbacks rarely get forward and we do not attack with enough numbers to cause anyone problems. We rely on moments of brilliance like from Yannick, which went unrewarded by the refs cowardice or FFS last week against Swansea when he made something out of nothing. We were without Chamakh who has been so important to us this season, yet TP didn't bring in a similar player, Pep, Bannan or Ince he went with a defensive three mad midfield and gave up that area that Chamakh usually occupies and Southampton picked up the ball there so often.

Unless we actually try to win between now and the end of the season we WILL go down.
