I can forgive him that 'header', on the basis that there are a few games where he effectively earned the 3 points. He's a frustrating player, sometimes he just pops up and wins a game. Othertimes he scuffs a penalty and provides the otherside with an assist.

NVG against the top half teams. Invaluable aginst the bottom feeders. In other words, his level is our level. I am sorry if that makes uncomfortable reading.

Btw, I also prefer Bannan.

nearly.

He's championship and happy to be that level, whilst we are (just) in the prem and striving to stay there. BIg Big difference

He's played 4 out of the last 5 seasons in the Premiership. Not sure how that makes him a championship player.

What are these good games Puncheon has had ????

How he get s a start most weeks is beyond me, as much as i think Bannon is better in CM he is definitely better than Puncheon out wide.

I agree. If we go down by one point it is entirely due to that game. He is not my kind of player at all.

What a ridiculous accusation. Individual mistakes from all over the squad have cost us numerous points this season, to isolate one and label that as solely responsible is just ridiculous. Scapegoating at it's finest.

I'd like to see his goal/assist stats alongside the much loved Bannan and Bolasie. Would certainly surprise a few people.

his quality of play, decision making and overall desire shown on the pitch seem to show him as a championship player, one albeit emlpoyed by a premiership club.

Well 5 different managers clearly disagree with you.

I've never understood the constant bitching and hate ensued upon Puncheon from the day he arrived. He's one of our more quality players no doubt whatsoever. Bolasie can run and gives his all but has no end product anywhere and sometimes I feel is just running like a headless chicken. Jerome Thomas - well just no. Bannan is quality but will not play under TP so may as well just get over it.

I think other than potentially Ince he is our best wide player - he's no Lionel Messi but this whole assumption that he "doesn't give a s***" is frustrating, you ever spoke to him? He seemed rather gutted after that penalty miss at Spurs and am sure he does care about how he plays, he's not a Berbatov player who can just walk into any team and not give a monkeys and still produce moments of magic so why would he not give a s***?

Big conspiracy if you ask me - I've always said he is one of the more quality players we have and has scored some big goals (well taken at that) that could prove huge at the end of season.

I agree! He's the only player in the squad that looks like he can create something out of nothing.

He clearly does care, hell.. he started crying after the Stoke game. What more do you want :P

Some one here would still ask for more!

Does Bolasie have any goals or assists this season? Genuine question.

Player - Games - Goals - Assists
Jason Puncheon - 22(3) - 3 - 1
Yannick Bolasie - 13(6) - 0 - 1
Barry Bannan - 13(1) - 1 - 1

None are exactly setting the house afire on the stat front (which you'd expect given how goal shy we've been all season) but Punch is comfortably the best.

And before anybody plays the "he's started more games than anybody else" card, his average goals per game is better than both the other two by a fair distance as well.

I do not know about the stats but my eyes tell me he gets caught in possession too much and is too inconsistent i would have JW in my team ahead of him. No doubt he is a good player but i would have preferred JW to get games in the premier not get loaned out.
