Discuss. I know he has great tackling stats but we wouldn't need to tackle so much if he was in the side.

He is in the side.

A bloody good job he is to, our most important player.

If he did all these extra things you want, pass, dribble, take free kicks, score goals then he would be YaYa Toure and cost about £40m.

Unfortunately he isn't, live with it..............

I think that the phrase 'weak link' is wrong, as previously mentioned he has a specific job to do in the team and that isn't to be a box to box dynamo who can spray Steven Gerrard passes around. Personally feel that he would be better complimented with either Bannan or O'Keefe alongside him. Both Imo can feel hard done by at present. Don't forget also that he is our Captain and a bloody good one, with outstanding leadership qualities. Something that will be needed more than ever in the weeks to come. Finally, he had an Australia game in the past week (and scored) I believe and as such has done a huge amount of travelling which, may have taken the edge off his game.

Totally with you DD, however they played the Aussie game at the new Den which is probably the closest football pitch in the world to Selhurst Park...

You'll be forever in my family's memories and it was an honor and privilege to play and lead in the red and blue
Yours sincerely

Instead of focusing on what he did wrong yesterday why not concentrate on what he did right?

Put in a great shift and was all over the park and yes he made mistakes, better that than be anonymous like KG.

the dignified don't even enter in the game

Don't forget, he is the one that pinged the cross field pass to Zaha during the Watford final...the rest is history. Pretty good "pass" as I recall.

Response to Finchley Eagle...

I didn't realise it was played at The New Den but it has made me chuckle. Must do my homework next time! Perhaps the traffic was bad!!

Of course he isn't a weak link but I thought that yesterday was the worst I have ever seen him play..he, KG and Puncheon were simply appalling

Response to Superbeagle

Yes remember the pass to Zaha but then a pro footballer should be expected to ping the occasional accurate pass! If you were asked to describe the attributes of Jedi I don't think you would include his passing abilities.

Brilliant player at interceptions, tackling and winning aerial balls, crap at passing and doesn't seem to score many headers.

But to suggest he is the weak link is nothing more than pure insanity!

He's good when we win corners - makes a real nuisance of himself in the box.

Now people are on Jedi's back - amazing!

Jedi is our destroyer, the man who breaks up opposition attacks, puts the fear of god in to opposing forwards and midfielders who look to run at the heart of our defence. The man who reads the game better than most and whose number of intreceptions in midfield and defence are second to none.

If we were scoring goals and winning games nobody would be comenting negatively on Jedi. However, some are making him the scapegoat for our failings that are not his responsibility.

Yes his passing can be poor but he does not try to do too much he is forced to do too much. The number of passes he makes every game, whether they are good or bad, is probably three times higher than any other player wearing a Palace shirt.

For heavens sake the man has been immense this season and competed 100% in every game and for every minute of every game. Without him we would likely be on ten points and have a goal difference of minus fifty!
