Where will the points come from?
Sunderland - 1
Cardiff - 1
Villa - 3
Fulham - 3

Cant see any more. That's 35 points. Likely come down to goal difference.

I think we'll actually win three of those four games, and get a draw against Everton.

I wouldn't say panic but it isn't ideal. Not a coin toss just yet but we're hardly sitting pretty.

I really think liverpool at home is a game we can look at winning, just cant see them keeping pace with chelsea and city up until then. I know they've got class up front and half the england team, but are their players really gonna be up for coming down to selhurst to play against a team fighting for their lives knowing they've already qualified for the champions league and most of their players will have one eye on the world cup, cant see too many of them going in for 50/50 challenges a month before Brazil

"We are more than capable of 9 points out of these games"
Really?
We are not capable of much at all unless we re-think tactics. We need the midfield re-jinked so we have players who can actually hold and pass the ball and not just knock it back to the opposition.
At least give Bannen and Ince a chance so we can provide balls for Murray and Chamack to start scoring. This isn't coming from the likes of KG or Jedinak.
If we don't score soon our position will become terminal and there will be grounds for panic.

This with bells on.
We have looked totally devoid of any sort of creativity at present.
Pulis stance on not liking small players is hindering us now, as our most creative player is Bannon. He is the best at dead ball situations, and those at the moment are worse than bad!
Jedinak , ledley and KG are just mundane to say the least! not an ounce of creativity between them though I cant fault their work rate.
Ince looks out of his depth at present and im not entirely sure if there are enough games left to keep risking him!
Puncheon plays when he wants!
Bolasie tries but lacks an end product, he breaks well but has nothing to aim at.
Murray is short of match sharpness and speed im afraid, and Chamakh has stopped scoring.

Positives are that Ward and Dann look good players and consistent and on the whole our defence looks solid, but im afraid best we can hope for at the moment is a clean sheet and attempt to nick a goal.

I fear all teams including Fulham and Cardiff have more quality than us and players that can win a game.

Its going to be a very very close run in now, probably down to goal difference.

personally I think we need to be playing bannon, and we need to have players like williams on the bench, Id play chamakh and gayle up front now and drop bannon in behind them with bolaise and parr down the wings as both can cross.
Id rest Jedinak and let ledley have the central role for a couple of games see what he can do.

Jedinak invites pressure sitting so deep all the time.

only my opinion

Personally I sort of expected a defeat against Southampton. Whilst I obviously wanted us to clock some points, prior to the match I would've said 0 points against them does not have a negative impact on our chances. However, it was the manner in which we lost. Southampton were ordinary and beatable on the day which makes me concerned that a few subsequent games that I thought we would get our required points in, almost certainly won't be as easy as I'd first thought.

I won't panic yet, but Pulis can't afford to let the players play like that against any of our relegation rivals. They have to be 100% on it for the remaining games now. We have the fixtures we need to take the required points from, but no more snoozing.

The worry for me is that we have signed 20 players since promotion, on saturday we started 3 of those, Dann, Puncheon and Ledley, pulis has said since he took over we need more quality, Dann is ok, the other 2 were rubbish what does that say for the 17 who didnt start, it looks like we will have to avoid relegation with our championship team, for all their efforts they arent good enough so i think we are in a very sticky situation. At least we are still in there fighting, 3 months ago we were looking at Derby's record points of 11.

Definitely require a creative midfielder. The nearest we have is Bannan so think he should be the first name on the team sheet for Saturday. Unless we create more from midfield it will be hoofball only and the opposition have that style of play covered now. Unfortunately he does not fit the Pullis style of play so probably won't happen.

At the moment, I can summarize my emotions with two scenarios.

1) The quiet before a showdown in an old western.

2) The safety control room of Chernobyl just before the reactor blows.

I flit between either emotion relatively regularly. I think a heart attack is due before the season is out.

At the beginning of the season I told people, particularly the critics claiming we are down already, that "we will be fine". I still think we will be fine, and that's irrespective of what happens this season. Look at where we've come from since 2010? I still feel fortunate to even have a club to support if I'm honest.

Sunderland is a massive massive game.

This is our record against teams in the bottom half of the table since Pulis took charge.

W W W W D W W W D

We've got s'land and cardiff away and now people feel we aint got a chance because of one bad performance against a good southampton side at home and a poor first half away to swansea, which we still got a point from. There's a reason why their 18th and 19th and we're more than capable of getting results against both of them.

Err! because that's where he's been told to play.

Do you really think he want's to stand on the oppo's goalie toes, from corner's no?
As for dropping him he's the spine of the team!

Mate im not criticizing the man but he has played every minute of every game, and in my opinion its starting to show, hes lost his first touch and his passing is bloody awful, he is giving away more and more fouls.
And I never used the word dropped, but he does need to be rotated, a couple of games on the bench would probably do him good! before its forced upon us either through injury or suspension at an even more critical
point of the campaign.
we now have a player in the ranks that allows us to do this so lets use him.
