I think the time is now here to start taking teams on with our counter attacking style both home and away. Our remaining games are all against high quality sides or teams around us with something to play for.

Most of the sides we are facing have one crucial weakness - centre of defence - in every single remaining game.

True, the likes of Chelski, Citeh and Scousers (after battering Manure) are great going forward, but they do not defend well.

We need pace and TWO goalscorers up front (Muzza and Gayle for me). I would rather we sacrifice a DM for a creative midfielder, and that perhaps Bannan or Guediora steps into the side. Also, we need more old fashioned width and that means, Thomas and Bolasie to start.

If we don't start with this sort of line up, then we give ourselves 45 mins to hold out at 0-0 at HT, then change it up, and attack in the 2nd half. No sense in hoping for a scratchy point - we need 3 wins to get to safety in my view.

Others have said this, but now is the time for us to start winning, and getting that "shock" result against one of our home Top 4 side fixtures.

For the likes of Chelski, Citeh and the Scousers, as we don't stand a snowball's, we may as well mix it up a bit and do something different. But that isn't how Pulis plays, he is looking for the team to get used to operating a single system and to minimise damage rather than have a morale sapping cricket score against us.

Quite. If we were on 40 points, I would say go with the OP. As we are not, we have to stick with taking points off our rivals and clinging on to safety. Also, goal difference may be very important come May.

as much as I dont like to watch it, what has been our most successful format of getting points this season?

1) hanging on, clinging to the game and getting by , by the skin of our teeth, nicking the odd goal and win here and there

or

2) All out attack?

I'll give you a clue. It's not 2).

Mmmmmmm...the much peddled 'never been relegated' stat. Just out of interest, how many other current Premier League managers have actually been relegated?

I think maybe we need to become a bit more tactical going forwards, if we want to win more games, but thats more a case for maybe swapping KG out for say Bannan or O'Keefe when theres 20m to go, and dropping Jedinek into a pure defensive midfielder role, with Bannan playing a more attacking play maker role, or O'Keefe as a more central midfielder.

I think Pulis' is right setting out to contain first fifty or so minutes, to wear the otherside down more, and hit them on the counter.

I think maybe he's looking to nick a couple of games between now and the end of the season, and draw the rest.

Not that many that have managed and have been in English football for the last 20 years...

It's great - this mythical 'attacking football' but where are the players capable of providing it, not to mention the manager willing to risk it ?

Our best chance is to play 'ugly' and hope when we get the few chances generated that we have Glenn Murray on the spot to take them.

I'm sure he would have scored against Sunderland when KG missed.

Ah the mythical "We don't have the players to play any other way" line. They are professional footballers of varying levels of ability who can adjust, given time, to whatever system is given to them. Right now they are adjusting to the way TP wants them to play and they are still struggling a little with the ball as they are preoccupied with their positioning.
If Martinez had got our job they would of been adjusting to his style while Everton took on TP's and both groups would of become comfortable in the systems eventually. It just takes time to adjust to new instructions and those that just can't or won't will be moved on. Although I hate the style of play, it will not stay totally defensive once the way we play becomes second nature to them. I mean, Stoke were crap to watch, but they did attack people within TP's system and so eventually will we.
