I know there was a previous thread but I cant find it.

Surely it is time to give some sort of hint as to what is going to happen about the stadium? What is now the preferred option? If it is stay at Selhurst when will a design be floated and a planning application made?

I see that Spuds are moving ahead with their new stadium, (looks like a toilet seat). That involves them applying for cumpulsory purchase orders to make space. Is that something planned or necssary at Selhurst?

I would imagine seeing if we can be more than one season wonders will play a large part in what happens next.

Two or three seasons in the PL could make a big difference in terms of options and speed of change

Here we go again. So Palace need to stay up to justify a new stadium? Na, if that were the case then Palace wouldn't have built anything yet. Like the roads, build them and see the traffic come after. It always does and so it will again. It's all aquestion of faith. Those who say we should wait to build have no faith in our club. Hideous!

We could of easily got 35k at home this season with selling tickets on the door, okay alot would be day trippers and a few away fans in the home end but its what you get at a lot of other grounds in the premier league, and it would be worth it for the extra income the club would get

We’re obviously not going anywhere for the foreseeable future and that’s fine with me.

Do we want a soulless, sponsor-named, plastic stadium in the middle of nowhere? Do we want a 30k plus capacity ground that will spend most of its existence half empty?

No, we have our near century old stadium, where the clubs history has unfolded and legends of the game have played. It’s nearly full every week. It’s our home. If the owners continue to improve the facilities as they seem to be, why would we ever want to move?

(I would make an exception for a move to the National Sports Centre but unfortunately, that’s not going to happen).

Sustaining Premier League football would help hugely, so I imagine we'd possibly hear more if we stay up.

I think the point is that unless we can stay in the Prem a while, we have no need for a 35k stadium for 16k to rattle around in.

I do agree we should get the ball rolling once we're certain to be safe. But then it's not me stumping up the cash.

That's the thing, if we are in the Premiership and can increase the average by 10,000 a year to 35k that would bring in approx £4-6 million in season ticket sales which could possibly pay off a long term loan for building a ground.

If Palace were relegated, there is no way we would get 35,000, probably not even 25,000, so where is the money going to come from to pay the loan off? Even if we are never relegated, who knows if the football bubble will burst and the Sky money dry up?

Brighton have spent a fortune on their new ground but there is no way that they could ever afford to pay the owner back unless they are in the Premiership, even with their large crowds. They have an owner who is able and willing (no one knows for how long) to rent the ground to them for just £1 million a year and even then they make a loss and are struggling to comply with FFP.

Brighton and their owners are stating they are a big club with a big future. It may cost money, but they believe. What about us? Stand up if you believe in Palace. Stay sitting if you want a small club forever. Thank god A. J. Wait had the foresight and subsequent chairman have followed his lead.

If we get a big new ground, what do you think is more likely, we’ll become another Arsenal? Or Another Coventry?

Lets see how that works out for them...its no good being aspirational at the expense of common sense..Brighton will not be able to have those apsirations much longer unless they very quickly manage to get their noses in the Murdoch trough.

As for us - we need to look to be a little more financially and structurally secure to establish what we need to do or apsire to ground wise.
