Cardiff were in trouble once they sacked Malky MacKay. OGS might be a good manager, but he was always going to struggle, because he went into a team that was playing for their manager, who had the support of the fan base (even after he went). As the man appointed by Tan, who's actions seem to have done more to get Cardiff into this position than any opposition team could have done.

There might have been extenuating circumstances but they were in slight bother when Mackay left.Whilst he was at the helm their record this season was as follows : P18 W4 D5 L9. When he left they were 16th on 17 pts.

Yeah.
Their extenuating circumstances are the fact that they've got an owner with no clue.
So good for us.

Never a club to warrant much in way of sympathy, but can't help feel sorry for them. It's the epitome of the modern affliction of foreign owners, having zero attachment to the club or area, coming in and ruining it.

If I was a city fan I'd strongly consider ducking out and watching a non-league side til that berk Tan has been sent packing, and the team are playing in blue again.

'Tan' would argue that he has invested heavily in the club and that his money ensured Cardiff were promoted to the Premier League.

Cardiff are an example of what happens when money comes into a club with the kind of strings attached that alienate key staff and fans.

Tan sees Cardiff as an investment into the East and so wants to mold the club......He's finding out that unlike other British businessness football clubs require their owners to fit in with the club and not the other way around....If they can't take a sizable number of fans with them on changes.....It's just not going to work.

Fan destabilization affect players on the pitch....Which affects the bottom line.

Still, Tan's money has benefited Cardiff for the moment....But it all could go completely pear shaped for them.....They have gone all in with him.

Agree - the best thing that could have happened for the rest of us was Tan sacking Moody and seemingly 'baiting' McKay so he'd leave

Crashingly bad business decision there

I'm on the cusp about this at the moment.
I have no idea what that means but it sounds really great and football like.

Reading that forum just reminds me what a horrible place the premiership can be.

Due to media coverage and all the attention exerted on every mistake means everyone goes into melt down ad soon as results turn. .. a fair few of our fans were nearly there before chelsea!
