Thought the whole thing was a joke, riddled with cliche from both sides and with barely an interesting point raised by anyone.

The nearest it came to breaking in to sophistication was the woman at the back shouting 'I'm coming for you, Farage!'. If only they'd let her.

So, as a Student lefty, do you still see Brand as the messiah who will invite the masses into rising up and creating the workers paradise you crave?

If I say yes will it satisfy your need to stereotype vast swathes of people you don't know to conveniently correspond to how you view the world?

Opinions don't live or die by their prophets. What I admire in Brand is him channeling certain causes through his personality to elevate their position in the public consciousness. Question Time was never going to engage with these things sadly, as it is the type of political programme that sees David Dimbleby as a neutral chairperson and attempts to get some balance through a f*cking Murdoch journalist!

But do you honestly see Farage as the answer? The more I hear of him the more I think he just believes his own hype and is trotting out lines from 2/3 years ago on the need for a 'sensible, honest debate about immigration' as if we aren't hearing that constantly. Brand at least sticks his flag to the mast about his socialist ideology, whereas Farage seems terrified that someone will realise that he's a small c conservative libertarian using popular social tensions to further an economic process which began while he was groping the secretary in his merchant bank.

Interesting your assumption that I have a need I stereotype when you are very apt at doing this to people who oppose your unworkable ideology.

Is Farage the answer? I dont think he has ever claimed to be the 'answer'. He has repeatedly offered to move aside when a consensus formed in UKIP over who the next leader should be and I believe he will do this soon and move aside for Douglas Carswell. Farage is about the message not his own ego and he is f***ing good at getting the that message across.

Your petty insults do not detract from the key issue - your 'messiah' Brand is all shout and not prepared to stand for parliament. Nigel is standing for parliament. Rusty rockets is full of s***. Nigel is full of action.

Keep desperately trying to smear Nigel and UKIP. The fact is that their message resonates with far more people than whatever unworkable and fashionable whim you chaps promote.

I do not vote UKIP but I do agree with Nigel that immigration is a key point these days in many peoples minds, including mine. As he and some other politicians have already said its not the immigrants alone but the vast amount of them that are coming in to our country that actually give or do nothing for us. Mary Creagh the Labour MP on question time last night made a statement that mass immigration was good and that the NHS is crumbling under the present government. If she had put her brain in gear and not made such a stupid remark she might have had some applause last night. Does she not know that allowing the millions of immigrants coming in (as Labour did and is now hard to stop)is the main thing that the NHS is struggling to cope. A lot of immigrants are breeding like rabbits and I saw an article some weeks ago stating that two thirds of babies born today are due to mass immigration. No wonder the NHS is struggling now, the workload has increased so much since 1997 when Boy Blair opened the gates to the world and anyone that wanted an easy life....a lot on benefits. This helped him get votes but has since backfired. Nigel has good point every time he brings up immigration as it IS out of control....Well done Mr Blair!!!!

In your minds, yes. But not in reality.

Where do you live Ghosteagle and how old are you?

Sadly, we don't hear it enough because thugs/morons like the blue haired woman in the audience shout "racist scum" at him, whilst the BBC, The Sun, Mirror et al try to discredit him and/or his party.

Why are you so afraid of this debate and a badly needed referendum now on our membership of the EU?

How overcrowded must the UK become before any action is taken?

Ukip’s rogue males, sexual harassment and money mixups – a byelection drama that’s in the Dynasty league

First there was general secretary Roger Bird and the allegations of sexual harassment. Then there was Neil Hamilton’s doomed attempt to ride to the rescue. It’s the political soap opera that keeps on giving

The wonderful irony about all this UKIP nonsense being, of course, that without immigration Nigel would just be another silent, conformist, establishment suit in The City.

A leading UKIP candidate has issued an "unreserved apology" after he made comments about "poofters" and "shooting peasants" in a leaked phone call.

A recording of Kerry Smith's remarks were obtained by the Mail On Sunday.

A UKIP spokesman said they were "the rantings of an angry man" who was on sedatives for an injury at the time.

Mr Smith is the party's candidate to contest the South Basildon and East Thurrock constituency at the next general election.

During the recorded conversation, Mr Smith talks about UKIP setting up a lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) group. He can be heard jokingly referring to it as BLT UKIP and adds "what the old poofter groups call themselves".

He jokes about "shooting peasants" from the Essex town of Chigwell and supporting "a peasant's hunt through Chigwell village".

The party of the ordinary man.
