remember 2005 when the team soon to be crowned 'champions of Europe' came to Selhurst and we spanked them ?

which is sweeter for an eagle ? '05 or '14 ?

Not sure to be honest, but I do remember being in the office the next day in 05 when a Gooner came up to me and said I should come and watch them play Premiership (i.e. real) football. I said, No thanks we only beat the European Champions last night. Needless to say he went away very quitely

Taking the bungy jump since 1964. Never to see John Jackson in a shirt again

Sorry to see Lee Hills go, did we ever see Alex Marrow? We did January 2013

I don't think 2005 was a big shock. We've had a great record against Liverpool at Selhurst over the last 23 years and only got tonked once (5-1 on the first day of the season). Monday was much better because at 3-0 down it looked like we were going to get tonked for the first tpme since then.

Sorry to be picky but it was 6-1, in 1994 I believe.

After the 9-0 we became a bogey team for Liverpool with 4-3 in the cup preventing them winning the double then 91-92 we done the double over them
Nice to have continued being a thorn in their side with the 3-3

Now that toothy has left the Scousers I'll still get a thrill from reminding them of the tears he cried at Selhurst. Delaney was lucky not to have been bitten that day!

2014 for me.

2005 had an air of us still looking like we were going to be relegated, an Liverpool didn't really play their best that day either. Gerrard came on as a sub and did little to influence the game.

2014 was totally different - we were full of belief and playing not too badly, to come back from 0-3 down was amazing and this was a much better Liverpool team than the one in 2005.

Mind you, we have been a thorn in Liverpool's side for years, ever since that 9-0 debacle. They came to Selhurst and won 2-0 after that, then we won in the cup final, then the following season we beat them LIVE on ITV after Christmas when Mark Bright put one through Grobbelaar's legs, the following season we beat them again, we did them in the League Cup a few times as well (although losing 0-5 in 2000 was probably our last, big, defeat to them).

Losing 3-0 at Anfield was no picnic either, as was losing in the last minute 3-2 back in 2004, but we have more than held our own against them over the last 25 years.

That 1-6 loss in 1994 was just like the 9-0, on that day Liverpool would have thumped anyone - Jan Molby pulled the strings in midfield, Steve Macmanaman scored after a 70 yard run and Ian Rush, well, knew where the goal was.

It was 3-1 at half time, but 2nd half Liverpool were quality. It was a wake up call we never answered that season.

I was there in 2005.

AJ scored off a wayward Routledge cross (which he appeared to claim as an assist!)

Watched the 3-3 on TV, but wished I was there.

Generally the atmosphere seemed better for the 3-3.

Yeah I remember beating them in the 90/91 season at Selhurst, I even started to believe then that the impossible may come true, sadly we lost the return match and Arsenal were too strong for both of us, even with the points deduction that year.
