I know Br1-3hton fans generally steer clear of (lady) gardens, but it can be worth getting your fingers dirty in the garden, without sticking them up some guys bottom.
A good plant to start with is the Crystal Palace Lobelia (shown in photo).
A tough and resiliant plant, which it is extremely difficult to kill, and ultimately gives fantastic blooms of red and blue which give surprisingly stunning displays.

Conversely, a really difficult plant to manage is the Oxalis Fanny, or 'mahoosive vaginias', or more commonly called The Sussex Weed. (see photo)

In spite of promising potential, by propagating in a stunning new greenhouse, this plant always fails to meet expectations.
Copious amounts of horse shlt, fails to inspire any kind of performance from the 'weed', which wilts readily when under spotlights, and is commonly known as a 'potless' plant.
Generally, this plant will not produce any colours of note,

Don't forget that many Brighton fans like to garden facing upwards on a slope.

I believe Alan Titchmarch has referred to this practice as uphill gardening.

Simple planting of pansies is also their preference.

A lot of them can be detected by brown deposits under their fingernails from their activities in the potting sheds with their dibbers.
