Stuart, I'm sure loads of other people on here have suffered with depression. Your mentioning it will make them realise they aren't alone. Don't listen to what anyone else has said about the past, you can't change that, and people having a moan at you don't know all the detail and are probably not perfect themselves.

For everyone else:

I've always thought that the term depression is misleading. sure supporting palace at some times in the past has been depressing, but when people feel down about it that's certainly not depression. although that's what most people associate depression as.

Usually depression is cause by the brain not producing enough serotonin, which makes you happy. Without it your brain goes haywire and it's debilitating for people it happens to. It's not unlike having flu in that sense as it's an illness that knocks you for 6, but the difference is you can't produce the happy brain chemical which helps you see the light at the end of the tunnel.

In the past we had medical terms like imbecile and moron. We now don't use them (except when describing the Charlton Athletic board) as we know it's not a true description of people's disability. In the future I think we'll get a new name for depression as it just makes people miss understand the illness.

Good post jeeagles, especially the charlton bit
But your dead right, the word depression I feel does get used in the wrong way, for me it wasn't really ever depression that's just what the doc said, I knew it was the nervousness and anxiety being the worst all a cause of what had happened in my life, my brain could've produced all the serotonin in the world but would have no effect my life's experiences, instead the effect was the nerves and anxiety, which in honesty never really leaves you 100% but you have to learn to cope an beat it best you can.

I could give you better advice if you post some pics of the women in question.

Don't listen to your doctor. Putting you on pills and saying you have depression helps him (or her) get rid of you but doesn't help you. You need to deal with a load of stuff. Not least why you fall for clearly difficult and unsuitable women. Labelling yourself as 'depressed' is a hindrance not a help.

Just my opinion.

Don't forget to post the pics of the women in question.

Brilliant vid PG, and 100% spot on. My black dog is now very small an kept on a leash, but sometimes barks, it's all about dealing with those barks, which I can and do, you will do too Stuart!

It's good to talk. Literally. Whether it's on here, to your GP, to your mates or family or to a counsellor, try to talk it out an hopefully things will become clearer to you.

All the very best, and ignore the perfect people who've never made a mistake in their perfect lives

Cycling is great exercise because it is fun.

Stuart it may take a while but stepping stones and all that.

Try to replace any negative stuff with positive and things will start to look a little bit brighter. A puppy would be good too. Sounds like you need some loving company and they give that out in spades.

Hello Stuart I'm sure lots of people can relate to what's happened in your life, I bet there aren't many people who can say they don't have regrets, I know i do, I often wish I could turn the clock back and change things, but of course we can't. But it still doesn't stop us thinking about it.
There are quite a few telephone counselling agencies about, so it sometimes helps to talk to someone on the outside! who is completely non judgemental , and experienced with such problems! I worked as a telephone counsellor many years ago! and I know it helped talking things through with people like yourself.
I like many others have had the "black clouds" over me more than once, but you need to know that the sun will come out again, maybe not tomorrow, maybe not for a while, but it will be back in your life......I promise!!

People may well say "come on old chap, pull yourself together" forgive them, they really don't know how you feel, if ever you need a chat on the phone PM me, meanwhile I hope you find the support on this site helpful.

You betrayed your best friend and had an affair with his missus, after doing the same with another married woman.

and yet all you can think about is how it affects you?

Why should anyone have any sympathy with a selfish homewrecker like you?

When did you do your training with the Samaritans Pussay?

LOL

Great pic, Hoofster!

Would definitely smash BOTH of those!

Just to get it straight, your mate celebrated his wedding anniversary by smashing his new bit on the side? LAD
