Thatcher and Saville were good mates...

This is just wrong.

Like her or hate her....Agree with her ethics or not. Thatcher was a moral woman who didn't believe in harming children.

Thatcher does not deserve you associating her with a pedeophile just because you didn't like her politics.

Out of order.

Nick's usual implicit response.....Some journalist wrote something....It backs me up.

Anyone who even saw Saville could kind of tell that hardly anyone really knew him and that very few people were close to him......But no....Nick 'bull in a china shop' is allowed to type any crap he likes.

Just how many people knew Saville but didn't know he was a pedeophile? It must be tons. The connection you make with Thatcher is truly disgraceful.

It's implicit, 'you were his mate, so you're infected'

You are out of order but as you're on a keyboard you don't pay the price.

She stole free milk from school children.

Thatcher the milk-snatcher

The milk was grim anyway.

The original quote in this thread was a tongue in cheek response in another thread about Thatcher's ties with Pol Pot. I didn't want the thread to change subject too much as it didn't deserve it.
Stirling, your response implied that Thatch didn't know J. S was a bit iffy. In fact, she was advised against Knighting him several times by her advisors.
One of the links in my last post asks the question, with J. S's close royal connections, it would stand to reason that security services would have made full checks on him. Sir Maggie would have known about this surely?

Please direct this post to Thatcher's estate....Sod it I'm tempted to myself.

Your implications are disgraceful and without foundation.

Thatcher was not a protector of pedophiles.

Stirling, I think the original post was reasonable. Reading the link, the story is all about released government papers, not a journalist's comments. It is a perfectly reasonable view someone could have that Mrs Thatcher's (certainly seeming) friendship with Saville is worthy of note (and ill judged) in retrospect. That's perfectly reasonable comment about someone in their public life.

I had a friend who worked at No 10 with her a lot in a civil service role. They said she was always extremely nice and considerate to employees there. However, politically, I personally feel no problem in saying I view her as a "monster". Its called "freedom of speech"
