Sad news. If my memory serves me right, he signed on deadline day 76/77 from Derby and transferred out the following season. Not very fast but good positional sense and a composed finisher. His goals made a huge impact in our promotion run in, including that amazing game at Wrexham.

If my memory serves me right, he signed on deadline day 76/77 from Derby and transferred out the following season. Not very fast but good positional sense and a composed finisher. His goals made a huge impact in our promotion run in, including that amazing game at Wrexham.

Jeff was a big part of the 77 promotion team and Terry Venables' first management success. He had superb close control, laid the ball off well and must've had a very good goals-to-game ratio. Very sad news, especially at such a reasonably young age.
Jeff was a big part of the 77 promotion team and Terry Venables' first management success.
He had superb close control, laid the ball off well and must've had a very good goals-to-game ratio.
