A mother threatened with eviction from the house where her son took his own life was found hanged in the same spot, an inquest heard.

Frances McCormack, aged 53, had been badgered for Bedroom Tax after the death of her 16 year old son Jack Allen in 2013, the coroner heard.

The eviction notice arrived at her home the same day Ms McCormack's body was discovered on August 10 last year.

A handwritten note was found in her bedroom, part of which was addressed to David Cameron on the hardship the Bedroom Tax was causing.

Why not also highlight that this all happened in an area, locally governed by Rotherham Council, which I've just checked is Labour controlled.

And never mind the statement from the coroner too.

Yes the words the coroner used was 'may have'.

That's conclusive then.

Just like a bloke who jumps off of a car park may have just been looking over the edge to see how small people look from that high up.

Total nonsense. Once again you try and defend s***ness.

Ahh yes, Rotherham council, inventors of the 'bedroom tax.' Yes I know it's called spare room subsidy before you use that as some sort of defense.

I'm not sure if some people on here are just WUM's or unfeeling cants.

That's a tad unfair on Brian.

It's the council demanding the money.

How are people driven to these measures over a few quid a week but no one's ever done the same thing after losing their job?

Well firstly you'd probably find that some have.

If I lose my job I still have my skills and I have at least some prospect of getting another job. If I were disabled and/or sick to the point where I depended on the benefit system and those "few quid a week" were all I had, having those benefits withdrawn would leave me (and my dependants) pretty much goosed.

Some benefits, notably ESA, are meant to be an individual's last recourse for funding basic necessities. Others might less extremely still be the difference between making ends meet and not. Taking them away without making absolutely sure they're no longer required is obviously dangerous.
