I don't get why this thread still runs. Gestede was only in our sights because our strikeforce wasn't firing on all cylinders. Now Austin, Ba and Remy are linked with us.. and of course Murray started scoring again. Doubt we'll go for unproven talent this window.

I rate Sherwood myself,just not so sure of the validation of this 'rumour', it doesn't add up.

£6m?! and to a rival with no player swoop?! If this all happens this will probably be the first time I feel like we have "missed out" on a decent transfer. With the strikeforce of The Adebatov I kinda felt that Villa would struggle for goals again...but Gestedes might may all the difference. I like this article [Link] maybe Sherwood read iat and thought he'd add someone inexperienced in the PL but stable to balance things out.
