Do I hate anyone that holds differing views? Really? Don't think so petal.

I think you do. Hence your menstrual nature when people disagree with you.

I must be honest on this Matt as Nick doesn't hate everyone with different views as I have regular cordial interactions with Nick via pm on a very regular basis, and I can assure you my views are the very opposite to his I can assure you. For one I cannot stand unions they are my pet hate....but it does not stop us being friends.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Can I ask if he can be somewhere in-between? - something like 'a bit of a moaner' and 'a slight tosser'. Perhaps something akin to the last supporter of the SDP, or even a liberal voter?

Two titles and neither really work. He's just a bloke who tries to 'open the eyes of the blinkered' I guess. Where's the harm in that?

Very funny vids.
Still, I think they're used as a way to deflect from the message he gives. It's easier to take the piss out of the messenger than answer the questions / issues he brings up.

It easy to take the piss out of Russell Brand because his talks s*** and doesn't help the 'working class' despite his ability to do so given his huge wealth. He is selling socialism through his books and morons lap it up. He is selling socialism and you don't get it!

I do understand the irony here. He deals with the subject quite well in Revolution. Read it, then you can form a more objective opinion. Then get back to me.

Bolocks. He is a celebrity socialist. He is happy to espouse 'revolution' from his loft in Shoreditch yet less keen to live in West Croydon with the 'workers' and experience what is a lower middle class or working class existence, let alone he existence of an Eastern European in the UK. Frankly he talks s*** and whilst i believe you believe the s*** that comes with bedroom socialism, it would give the likes of Brand more credibility if they walked he walk after talking the talk.

Just saying.

Like I said, hear or read him defend himself then get back to me.

I wouldn't describe him as a socialist, but should his views change just cause he's now worth a few bob? To say they should is both fatuous and facile.

No I've never been out with an African, but have taught in multicultural multi ethnic areas for the past 12 years so have a reasonable idea of many inherent issues.

That makes it all ok, doesn't it Gusset?

You talk the talk yet don't walk the walk.

You tell us what we should do yet have no experience of 'multiculturalism'.

I find your politics weak, predictable and hypocritical. Please, tell me it ain't so...

Hold on, are you suggesting that unless Gussett enters a full sexual relationship with someone of African descent, he won't understand their problems?

I love you Matt. I really do.

They're not mutually exclusive, even a busted clock tells the right time twice a day and all that, its just that I'd rather read Kropotkin, Klein or Goldman, than suffer the outrage of another dreary 'awakened' t***.

Bit of a knob Russell is, but, having listened to a lot of his latest book, speaks a lot of truths.
The fact he has a lot of salient points is the reason, to my mind, why he is being crucified in the media as it is those who have their fingers in the metaphorical pies that he is railing against.

Example: fracking. We only hear good things about fracking in much of the news corps press, which a lot of people believe cos it's 'in the paper' with lots of lovely diagrams and stuff. Turns out, Murdoch is on the board of directors of a major fracking organisation in the states, so it's in his interest to make shale gas look all lovely. Of course he won't allow any negative press about it- poisoning the landscape, rendering water flammable etc etc cos it'll affect his profits.

So of course he is being discredited...

I'm willing to bet that Brand isn't a geologist though?

And I'm willing to bet Murdoch puts profit above environmental damage.

I don't agree with Russell Brand's political views. I also think he's a bit of a knob. But I think the left should appreciate him as a kind of "left-wing opposite to Clarkson".

I once went to a comedy gala type thing and the second he came onto the stage, the guy behind me was saying "what a c***" and then "he's not funny" about once a minute for his whole routine.

I think ultimately right-wingers automatically dislike him, irrespective of what he says, because he's a camp liberal who gets all the women he wants. He's actually reasonably funny.

The man is a complete cock.

The capitalism he "hates" has allowed him to have a very comfy lifestyle including a rather lavish wedding by anyone's standards never mind a "revolutionary" and also fund his upcoming film.

The reality is that capitalism ultimately works because it fits in with human nature far better than any other well meaning "we are all equal" rhetoric
