It wasn't anything to do with people having less disposible income to spend down the boozer, nor was it to do with cheaper booze available elsewhere - supermarkets, petrol stations(!) or the offy that is the cause of the closure of many pubs. It's the fault of the Somalians.

That article is so silly it could be a spoof - have you seen the captions under the pictures?

Goodness is what you do. Not who you pray to.

F**k me - At that total I'd expect the whole f**king bottle (esp of a medium white).

It was nice to see that a Lib Dem was attributed to the quote rather than Sir Nigel of Farage!

Quite amusing really! Especially the "pint of beer". Should really have said "Partially quaffed pint of beer" or "glass half empty" or "glass half full"!!

Most certainly not European.

Come on Hoof, you live here. You know exactly where he is talking about and the fact that a pub in that area would not stand a snowball's chance in hell of surviving. The comment is merely stating what has actually happened in that area.

Whether it is good journalism or not, it is a statement of an undeniable fact that has been made into an article by the Tory press in an election year to make a Lib Dem sound like a Tory backbencher. The message to gullible middle England: You see, the Tories and UKIP don't hold a monopoly in swivel-eyed loons.

Much like the desperate Salvation Army crisis of old Whitechapel town, barely a brothel left.

Only the British press could imply that being teatotal is a bad thing.
