When my two lads were younger we used to have season tickets in the Whitehorse Lane stand. We sat in what I can only describe as a madhouse. Behind us were these two teenage guys, Commentary Kid who gave a 90 minute commentary on the game, which included shouting Hoooooofaaaaah! every time a ball was played out of defence. His mate, Capello Kid, could pass a judgment on any new player after their first touch of the ball, usually 'I've seen enough, waste of money'.

In front of us we had the Picnic family who had the whole works, flasks, sandwiches, sausage rolls, pork pies and, curiously, packets of sugar, salt and pepper that were blagged from cross-Channel ferries. This picnic lasted the whole game. Just along from them was the Mad Hatter who always wore a hat with ear-flaps, regardless of the weather. During the game the flaps would change from up to down and sticking straight out; our theory was that it was an indication of how he thought the game was going.

Also in the row behind us was a dad and two sons. Everytime (and I mean everytime) a Palace player was tackled, resulting in loss of footing, he would shout 'get yer cards out ref'. His youngest son, when the opposition goal keeper was about to kick the ball from hands, would shout in a squeaky voice, 'drop it'; it was mildly amusing the first time but not so much so after several hundred times.

A few rows back was a bloke with a whiney voice who, for some reason, had a pathological hatred of Sean Derry. Every time Derry came near he would berate him mercilessly with such gems as 'so what you gonna do now Derry' and 'Derry, you're s***'. One home game Derry had clearly had enough and shouted loud enough for half the stand to hear 'will-you-f***-off'; it can't be much fun being rawly told and having hundreds laughing at you as the geezer never did it again.

Apologies if anyone recognises themselves.

This post had me in stitches! Brilliant!!

Block E Lower Holmesdale I enjoyed a right good shout at a bloke who is just negative every damn game. Fortunately he didn't take a swipe at me, just tried to justify himself.

Why not have a go a these two ladies?

'Pru, it's kicking off' (Armstrong and Miller)

Wonder if you mean one of those a few rows in front of me - there's a lad & his dad spend the whole match slagging off the ref, never encouraging the team

And most of the time it's rubbish - classic was a player had just come on, made a tackle & lad shouted "EVERY SINGLE TIME, HOW MANY MORE TIMES ARE YOU GOING TO LET HIM GET AWAY WITH THAT"

I Drive over a two hundred mile round trip to watch our beloved Eagles, and I pay for my season ticket in the lower holmesdale like everyone else.

Sometimes if it's a s*** game, or we are out of sight I will leave a few mins early to beat the traffic, not all the time just if the mood takes.

Soemtimes I even dare to leave for half time a bit early to get ahead of the que for a pint, and this fcuking idiot at the end of my row moans like a little f***in bitch everytime someone moves past him, I wouldn't mind but we're all stood up any way.,

last time he actually pushed me, I went back after and told his mate if he touched me again he would know about it.

Plus he always shouts out c*** ref your're a c*** !! at the top of his voice.

Annoying Chopper.

Bloke and his 2 kids behind us in the Whitehorse. All 3 provide a continuous running commentary throughout the game, including giving their expert opinion on what players should/should not do with the ball....mainly hoof/don't hoof it etc.
Had to have a 'quiet' word with the guy last season. He shut up for a couple of week but now all 3 are back to their annoying worst. I can see that I will have to talk to him in sterner terms soon :-)

Years ago when we had seats in the Upper there was this autistic kid would not stop rabbiting on for the whole match. Couldn't tell him to shut up as he was autistic. We would take it in turns as to who sat next to him but ended up moving seats.

Behind me now, in block D, is a bloke who is very negative and every season has one player who can do nothing right. It's not constant through so would call it mildly annoying.

Close to row 19 and does he wear a hat? He currently likes to have a go at songo

IH: "I thought Jonny and Wilf were brilliant but it took a 39 year old master to watch the ball and keep his eye on it to finish it".
