Put here coz not everyone goes to general talk. You get e-mail asking if you authorised a purchase and to click on link if not.DO NOT CLICK LINK it gets all details including bank details. Mods i know wrong place but wanted everyone to see.

I had one of these yesterday too saying "Your Apple ID was just used to purchase Summer Games £8.49- Your Ref# xxxxxxxx It appears genuine but if you hover over (DO NOT CLICK ON) just hover over the parts where it says 'Write a Review' or 'Report a Problem' you'll see that the link wont be an official Apple link but it'll be a SPAM e-mail. My one said 'learnaboutonlinemarketing.com'.

I recieved this yesterday and believed it was a genuine email so I got in touch with Apple Support who told me i was a scam and to forward it on to their phishing dept.

Yep, I received the email last night but fortunately haven't even got an Apple account so just deleted it. Really grateful for this thread as have been racking my brain for where they got my details from so THANK YOU! Hope anybody who has been caught out resolves the problems quickly.

Thanks for posting. I got it also and thought my apple account had been hacked. I had already opened it. I've changed my Apple ID do you know if my details could have been scammed?

I've changed my Apple ID do you know if my details could have been scammed? no mate, the idea was that the scammers just sent the message to thousands of emails, even those not registered to an apple ID. I clicked the link and was ask to confirm the details of my card linked to my account, so if you did that, then you'll need to sort it quicksmart. if u didnt, you'll be fine.
