Most inkjet all in one printers will do what you require. However the cost of printer cartridges will send you to the poor house. Get one that will allow refills from bottled ink. Search the web to find suppliers on the net. £30 ink kit will last for a couple of years.

What are the printers that take the bottled ink called? I literally know nothing about printers so I don't really know what to look for..

It doesn't. I can run it in compatability mode but it doesn't always work. Canon provided updated Windows 8 drivers for the vast majority of its printers but not mine which is surprising seeing it is a top of the range scan all, print all (even CDs), copy all etc multi-functional printer. I did write to them but they couldn't give a toss & just suggested I buy a new printer.

Why worry about TODAY when TOMORROW will be even worse.

I remember asking a mate which was the best printer, he said the one with the cheapest cartridges Came true a few years ago, was printing CV to take to an interview, ink ran out so dashed to Comet. Took a cartridge to till, handed girl £20 & she wanted more. The black cartridge was £29.99 Went to check & sales guy came over, I asked if they'd made a mistake - nope Had no choice, but a black cartridge was £29.99 & colour the same to for both it would cost £60 They were selling new printers (HP) for £50 so it would be cheaper to buy a basic printer, keep the ink & throw the printer away

I buy all my ink cartridges on fleabay, a lot cheaper than shop prices. I can honestly say I can't see any difference in print quality than these and named brands. You're asking me what it's all about, and I can't tell you because I don't know what's going on myself.
