Dear fans,

In collaboration with other European Universities and LGBT Associations, the University of Seville (Spain) is carrying out a study of attitudes towards sexual diversity in football. In this study, footballers and football fans of different clubs are invited to complete a short questionnaire. The objective is to measure such attitudes at all levels of football in various European countries, from the most local categories to the top levels of competition.
The study is open to the participation of any footballers and football fans that want to join. Results of the study will be used to draw a map of attitudes surrounding sexual diversity in European football, and will allow the researchers to make comparisons among countries and cultures. All people over the age of 16 are invited to participate in this study. As English football fan, we would be very interested in receiving responses from you as representatives of your country. The online survey is accessible via the link below, and should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete:

Many thanks for considering our request!

Why can't we just enjoy football without bringing gender, race, sexuality etc. into it?

Personally I couldn't care less if you are tall, short, fat, thin, white, black, gay, straight... whatever just keep it to yourself as will I and concentrate on the sport which is why we are all here after all.

Whenever I feel the need to exercise, I lie down until it goes away.

Couldn't agree more with this.

Unfortunately we live in times where people seem to want to divide and conquer by splitting society into many groups and then complain that certain groups are discriminated against. Question this and you are labelled a bigot.

Football is about football. Not your physical appearance or where you stick your cock. However, that's not good enough for some.

Exactly! Anyone who wants to call me a bigot I would like an explanation as to why they think this way.

Yes I know - I brought in rape and sexual intercourse with a minor to lighten the mood

The OP will doubtless discover more about some football fans' attitudes to the subject from the comments posted rather than from the survey results.

Which is probably what he/she wanted anyway

I'm worried that they might start bringing in quotas at football matches, e.g.: 15% of supporters have to be homosexual.

Then, not only will I need to splash out for membership, I'll have to splash out in another man's bum.
