Most people only ever use it to download a proper browser on a new computer. Good riddance.

Windoze just gets worse and worse. Using Windoze 8.1 causes me actual physical pain. I have never seen such sh!te.

I've got a Linux laptop here that actually runs the only Windoze software I need (using wine) better than Windoze itself.

No doubt Internet Exploder is just being removed to make way for something worse - like Pooyet, hopefully.

Dead.

Catchy headline, but buried at the end of the piece is this:

Despite its reputation lots of people do still use Internet Explorer. It comes second or third in most usage share estimates.

In fact it is so widely used that some people think Microsoft aren't getting rid of Internet Explorer entirely, because it would really hurt the way some organisations operate.

So maybe Internet Explorer is not dead after all, just retiring.

Not denying it's rubbish, but rumours of its demise may be a touch exaggerated.

So....... is IE continuing or not?

I use it for banking and a few other things.... it works okay and doesn't cause me any grief.

I've tried firefox and google but don't like them. I'd rather carry on using what I do now.

Complete ballache.

Doesn't run half the sites I need to go on (all work related obviously!) and seems to crawl along at a really slow place.

I'm finding Chrome incredibly slow at the moment and Firefox quite good. A while ago this was the other way round. Only rarely use Internet Explorer as it has too many add ons and options that slow it down.

I tried booking tickets online with CPFC using chrome a while ago and it wouldn't work. Used IE and it did. So some websites only function fully with IE, which means if they do withdraw it altogether, it may cause some problems.

Sites that only function with IE are lazy and outdated. If they updated their s***, they'd find out very quickly how much business they're missing out on because people using other browsers (the majority) will simply ignore their site.
