I love the use of the word "only" for 16,000 years. Computer-based cyborgs will have taken over the planet by then. Can't see them standing around with pinhole cameras somehow.

Today is my 3rd experience of a Solar Eclipse, so I've had a "good innings". The first was in 1961 when I was 7 years old which I watched from Camden Rd school, Carshalton. The teacher gave us smoked glass to view it. The second was in 1999 in Portishead nr Bristol. Plus today in north Bristol. All three have been about 90% from where I have viewed the phenomenon. I doubt I'll see another as I'm 60 yrs old now.

You will, when you will be 71, and it will be from 83 to 95% coverage in the UK. Unless you book a holiday to Spain mainland or Balearics where you will get the 100%. Edited by Ian-VI (20 Mar 2015 1.38pm)

Didn't need goggles back then, we had an Ozone still. Not that any of us knew f*** all about it until they started banning aerosol cans and polystyrene cups!
