my wife dropped our car in this morning to have a door replaced after a non fault crash the other day,
we had no radio code supplied with our vehicle and have been told the car battery will need to be disconnected to carry out repair work, could the inssurance company or car car repair garage be responsible to cover any costs if we have to pay the main dealer for the radio code after repair work.
or should the repair garage obtain the code from Toyota before commencing any work?

Neither will be obligated to pay for the code. Get the code first, they normally don't charge if you're nice. Well, Ford don't.

Optimistic as ever

There is a website that can give you stock radio codes.
