Very sad and shocking.

Isn't there a theory that the missing MH370 is also pilot suicide?

Yep, one of them had a flight simulator at his house so it was a strong line of suspicion.

Not unusual fro pilots (apparently) also if he was planning on topping himself practising landing at various airports was arguably pointless.

They recovered data from it of him practising flying into the Indian Ocean.

Really? I didn't know that, still don't understand why you'd have to practice crashing though. I reckon that even I'd get that right first time

If true, it was probably more about acting out a strange fantasy.

If he was that much of a c*** that he crashed the plane deliberately, why not crash it into a city rather than an unpopulated mountain?

Afraid so. More likely practising how to avoid detection, or how to shut down systems, than the crashing part.

I'm more curious that a pilot actually needed to practice crashing a plane. I can't help but think that's generally considered the human default piloting skill.

Plus anyone who's ever played any kind of flight simulator has played at different ways of crashing into things.

Afraid so. More likely practising how to avoid detection, or how to shut down systems, than the crashing part.

But to do that, wouldn't you need an actual simulator (ie the big physical mock up of the plane cockpit). I can't imagine people having those in their house.

Probably because he hated passengers, rather than hating people. After all, if he was depressed and suicidal, maybe he'd hit a point that he absolutely hated flying people about all day, welcoming them etc.

Any conspiracy theories about yet?

I reckon it will come out that there was a "person of interest" on the plane. Maybe a weapons inspector, a witness in high profile court case, a leading opponent of some government, etc, etc.
