I don't know why I'm having trouble with this as I managed to send video from an iPad to Airplay on an Android TV box. Might have to finally give Apple credit for their special needs big icon ethos.

I'd just like to stream whatever I'm watching (live rather than stored media) wirelessly from my phone or laptop to the same Android TV box.

I have XBMC/Kodi on all devices which can also play what I send the same as Airplay but can't for the life of me find an app that actually streams from my phone rather that just being a media server.

Help please

Chromecast would do it but I don't want to buy extra hardware. I can watch the football on the Android box I have.

The sad thing is I'm trying to resolve the issue of the only service it can't receive, which is 4oD. I'll just watch Hollyoaks on my laptop then.

If 're usng xbmc to stream then there's an xml file that allows you to stream it via to a dlna tv or chromecast....I have a feeling its called player core factory from memory as I used it to stream straight from my tablet.

Are you using xbmc? if so then simply type "how to stream from xbmc via airplay" into google and you'll get a wealth of info

I'm looking to have XMBC or Airplay receive the stream from my laptop or phone which would be playing on Chrome or a catchup app.

What I did find was an app that succesfully sent to both but it's only meant for audio.

I also added the extention to Chrome which would ordinarily then send whatever you're watching to Chromecast but this doesn't work with any other devices.

Wouldn't it be simpler to download xbmc (or tvmc as its now known) onto your laptop to then stream 'live streams' to another device?

I was going to answer with "try speaking in English, you may get more help" but now agree that I do not have a clue what 'they' are on about

I've got XBMC (now called Kodi) on all devices but I'm not sure that option even exists for apps playing within it. But that's not what I need as I'd just play in XBMC on whichever device anyway.

Bascially I just want to stream to Airplay (which is installed on my Android TV box) like I've already done successfully from an iPad, but from a Windows or Android device. I've also managed to stream from my Android phone to Airplay and Kodi but the app I used only supported audio.

Interestingly Windows 8 has the option to project to another screen wirelesly which I can't get to work.
